The third generation Explorer "Ref. 1016" manufactured from around 1960 to around 1989
During the long manufacturing period, various specification changes have been made.

The product we have in stock this time was manufactured around 1975.
This model is equipped with a "hack function" that stops the second hand when the crown is pulled out.
The dial
is a "Type 3 dial" characterized by a vertical crown mark.
This is a rare dial also known as a "tall crown"!
Among the Ref.1016/matte dials,
It's a dial that's hard to find when you actually go looking for it!
Speaking of this tall crown dial,
This is the model (left) that is also used by Commit Appraiser Dr. Ito!

This MK3 dial is a little bit misaligned,
Dr. Ito called it a semi-center split!
