Hello!

Today's watch is a rare dial of the very popular vintage Explorer.

ROLEX EXPLORER All Tritium
Ref.1016 Serial.2.1M (manufactured circa 1969)
Cal.1570 Rivet Bracelet 7206/FF58 Clasp 68.1 Caseback 69.2
Accessories: Watch only
SOLD OUT!!

The Ref.1016 is a long-selling model manufactured for approximately 30 years from around 1959 to around 1990.
Its simple and refined design continues to captivate many fans even today.

Many times, when we get this model in stock, it sells out quickly.
It's a model that really has momentum among vintage Rolex watches!

The item that just arrived is an early rare individual from around 1969, featuring a matte dial.

The charm of this particular piece is definitely its dial!

This dial features a crown mark and font identical to those of the preceding mirror dial,
making it the rarest dial among matte dials.

Here's a comparison shot with our 1016/mirror (left).

Of course, the dial color is different from the jet-black mirror dial,
but can you see that the crown mark and lettering are very similar?

Here is a comparison shot of the magnified image.
The lettering is indeed very similar!

It's interesting that such dials existed in extremely small numbers around 1969.

The dial condition is excellent,
with no noticeable stains or deterioration, maintaining a superb state.

The beautifully aged luminous material on the indexes also remains in excellent condition.

With this rare dial, this dial condition is undoubtedly rare!

The hands show natural aging commensurate with their age,
but the luminous balance with the indexes is perfectly maintained!

It's a cool piece with a beautifully preserved dial and
perfectly aged tritium.

Overall, the condition shows signs of use commensurate with its age,
but there are no major scratches, making it a decent piece for a vintage model.

The mid-case has some signs of polishing,
but it doesn't appear overly polished and maintains a solid shape!

The rivet bracelet really suits models from this era.

The buckle clasp is engraved '68.1'.

The rivet bracelet has some stretch commensurate with its age, but it fits comfortably on the wrist.

It has a great face!
The dark cream-colored lume pops wonderfully against the matte black!

Wrist shot!!
The simple charm unique to this early matte dial is irresistible!!
Combined with the perfectly aged tritium lume, this is a truly vintage piece!

The highly popular vintage Explorer "Ref.1016/69" is a rare piece with an early matte dial that is seldom seen! The dial condition is exceptionally good, and the tritium's patina is perfect!! Among the popular Ref.1016, you should definitely grab such an early model while it's available! After completing an overhaul at our affiliated workshop, it will be listed on our website. Customers looking for an early matte dial Ref.1016, please consider this!
