Purchase (Trade-in)

What you should do when assessing your purchase:
Just one thing

When it comes to selling a watch, we often hear people say, "I don't know where to sell it," or "I'm worried they'll rip me off." Therefore, we've compiled the information you need to avoid making a mistake when choosing a store to buy your watch.
Please refer to this page to properly evaluate your watch and choose a store that will buy it at the highest price possible.

To compare

Surprisingly, there are many exaggerated purchase advertisements

When searching online for information on buying and selling watches, you will see many advertisements such as "Japan's highest purchase price" and "We will buy at the highest price!" Although many people know this in their hearts, it is no exaggeration to say that most of these advertisements are exaggerated.
Stores that post examples of their purchases often use the highest purchase price they have paid in the past as an example.

The current value of a luxury watch is important

The market price of luxury watches fluctuates greatly, and it is almost impossible to sell them for the price they were worth a few years or even a few months ago. What is the current price? That's what's important.

How to spot exaggerated purchase advertisements

So how can you check if it's true?
There are three points there.

  • 1. Call a watch shop that catches your eye
  • 2. Ask about the market price for your watch
  • 3 ① and ② were carried out at several stores,
    compare

If you do the above, you will definitely see a difference. What's more, if a store has a huge discrepancy between its purchase record and its actual price, it's just exaggerating.
For example, if you inquire at five stores about a watch with a selling price of about 1 million yen, it is normal for there to be a difference of about 50,000 yen, and the difference between the highest and lowest prices can be as much as 100,000 to 200,000 yen. Knowing these "differences" is the first step to a successful purchase.

Furthermore!! Be careful of stores like this!!

  • 1. A store that only tells customers what is convenient for them
  • 2. Stores that don't give detailed information over the phone and encourage you to visit first

As you may already know, stores that only say what is convenient for the customer or only encourage customers to visit without providing details have a high chance of giving a low appraisal value. They use various reasons to lower the appraisal value, and finally say things like, "We'll increase the appraisal value by 100,000 yen for a limited time only!", making you feel like you've made a bargain and leading to a deal.

There is a lot of information you can get just by calling. If the store has a good reputation and an excellent appraiser, this will be even more apparent. As an important first step, try calling a few stores.

  • Comparison is very important when purchasing
  • We don't recommend stores that don't/can't handle phone calls.

Why there is a big difference in valuation

Why do appraisal prices vary depending on the store?
"What is a store with a low appraisal value?"

To put it simply, large stores, stores that spend money on magazines and advertising, stores with large premises in good locations, stores with an excess of sales staff, and stores with overly luxurious interiors tend to offer lower purchase prices. Such stores naturally have high costs for labor, rent, advertising, interior decoration, etc. Therefore, they cannot make a profit unless they buy watches as cheaply as possible and sell them as expensively as possible. This goes without saying, but they cover their high expenses solely through the profit margin on the watches.

At our store, we purchase almost all watches at the highest price possible. The reason is simple: we keep the profit margin per watch as low as possible, we keep various operating costs down, and we are serious about improving our appraisal skills. As I mentioned earlier, you can see why we do this by comparing our prices with other stores.
In addition, just like the purchase price, the selling price is also the lowest possible!

  • 03 If the appraisal price at another store is higher, we will honestly tell you.

We offer purchase prices based on the market price, but in rare cases, other stores may offer higher appraisal prices.
For example, if there are already reservations for the item, or if the store has a particular strength in the product (brand), the purchase price may be higher than the market price. In such cases, we will honestly tell you that the price is higher at another store.

  • 04 Keeping information confidential and preventing identity theft

Some people may be worried, "I want to sell, but will the seller's identity be revealed?" However, when we post a watch on our website, we not only hide all of the watch's individual information, such as the serial number, warranty, and detailed dates of maintenance history, but we also prohibit customers from taking photos when they visit our store, and we do not provide any information that could lead to the seller when we receive inquiries by phone, email, or various social media channels.
