The second-generation GMT-Master two-tone model, the "Ref.1675/3 Root Beer."
Produced from approximately 1970 to 1979,
this was the first GMT-Master model to feature a stainless steel and yellow gold combination.
The addition of a glamorous gold finish to the practical, sporty design creates a unique presence that distinguishes it from the standard Ref.1675!
The Ref.1675/3, the first of the two-tone models,
features a brown dial and a distinctive brown and gold two-tone bezel,
commonly known as the "Root Beer bezel."

This combination of a Root Beer bezel and brown dial is affectionately known overseas by the nickname "Root Beer."
Though it's called "beer," it actually refers to the popular non-alcoholic spiced carbonated beverage in the U.S., and it is said that the watch earned this nickname due to its distinct brown hues.
The warm color palette based on brown and gold is exceptionally unique among vintage GMT-Masters, and the charm of the Ref.1675/3 lies in the fact that you can enjoy the individual characteristics developed through aging!

For reference, the Ref.1675/3 Root Beer features an applied 18K gold crown logo, whereas the Ref.16753 Root Beer has a printed crown logo.
Regarding the dials, the Ref.1675/3 features a matte dial (excluding the final variation), while the Ref.16753 features a glossy dial.
Which "Root Beer Nipple" do you prefer? Personally, I prefer the applied crown!

The defining feature of this model is, without a doubt, the "Nipple" dial.
"Nipple Dial"
Refers to the tapered, applied indices found on GMT-Master and Submariner models produced between the 1960s and 1980s.
They are nicknamed "Nipple dials" because they resemble barnacles (fujitsubo in Japanese). Overseas, they are commonly referred to as "Nipple dials."

The dial is in top-tier condition, remaining beautiful even under a loupe!!
While many specimens show significant signs of aging, this dial condition is undoubtedly rare!
The luminous material on the hands and indices also matches perfectly!!

The insert is also a crucial point!! This particular piece is equipped with a lovely Root Beer insert, which I highly recommend!!

What do you think? The beautiful fading that truly defines "vintage" is captivating!! I am absolutely in love with how it has faded into a subtle gradient.

While there are some minor signs of wear, the condition of the case and bracelet is excellent! The mid-case has not been over-polished and remains thick and solid.

The bracelet is a folded-link type, which further enhances the vintage atmosphere!!

The buckle is stamped with the first quarter of 1972.

The period-correct bracelet is in great condition with only minimal slack!

It underwent an overhaul by the manufacturer in August 2025 and comes with an International Service Guarantee.

Wrist shot!!
This model truly has such a stylish, authentic character! The exquisitely faded insert is wonderful!

A popular vintage GMT-Master model: the "Ref.1675/3 Root Beer."
With its stunningly faded insert and a brown dial maintained in remarkably beautiful condition, this is a highly recommended specimen!!
It has been a long time since we last had such a well-kept Root Beer in stock, and they are becoming quite hard to find nowadays!
If you are looking for an authentic Root Beer, please consider this exceptional timepiece.
