The third generation Explorer "Ref. 1016" manufactured from around 1959 to around 1989

The Vintage Explorer has undergone various specification changes over its long production period.
This vintage model is popular for its superb dial design and exquisite 36mm size.

The item we have in stock this time has the original serial number L3 (1989-90).

However, the middle case has been replaced twice, during manufacturer overhauls in May 2002 and June 2010.

You may be wondering, "Twice?"
At that time, all-new music was popular,
The repair invoice for 2002 states that the cost of replacing the case was 32,000 yen.
It may also be because it was a time when it was easier to replace cases than it is now.

In addition, the dial, hands, bezel, bracelet, etc. have been replaced during past overhauls,
Perhaps it would be easier to describe this as a "Ref. 1016" that is almost in all-new condition.

The only difference is that the dial was replaced at some point with a dial that is different from the service dial and is mainly from the 1980s.
Therefore, the dial index luminous material is tritium.

The hands are luminous with Luminova.

Incidentally, the dial condition is still in very good condition.

It's a bit disappointing to have to replace the middle case, but...
The case is in good condition and you can enjoy a crisp case.

The case with sharp edges is really cool!!

The bracelet may have been replaced in later years,
It's in very good condition with almost no creasing.
