"Ref. 14270" manufactured from E to P (around 1991 to 2000)
The latest arrival is the early model "Blackout" manufactured around 1991.
Among the all-tritium, single-buckle "Ref. 14270"
This is a rare model that was only available in very limited quantities in the early production runs.

"Blackout"
The initial lot of "Ref.14270", mainly "E" and "X",
A dial with black lines on the 3, 6, and 9 indexes instead of white.

The Blackout comes in two types, silver and white, with the crown logo and dial lettering.
This time we are introducing a blackout with "black lines + silver letters"!

Here is a comparison photo with the W-serial number Ref. 14270 (right).

What do you think?
Silver lettering and blackout are completely different things.
The atmosphere changes.

Another attractive feature of silver letters is that they look different depending on how the light hits them.

By the way, this is the version with a stronger grey tint.

This is a shiny, vibrant silver version.

It's hard to describe, but
It is an interesting dial that shows different expressions depending on how the light hits it.

Another interesting point is that, strangely enough, the blacked-out models rarely show the deteriorated dial that is typical of the Ref. 14270.

This one also has a good dial condition.
It is maintained in good condition.

The luminous material is all tritium.
The condition of the luminous hands is also good.

The condition is overall there are scratches from use,
This is a good specimen that has retained its original form.

As you can see, the middle case is in excellent condition with no excessive finishing.

It seems that many of the early production Ref. 14270s have thin lugs, but this one is thick and in very good condition.

The hairline is also in good condition!!
Such a crisp blackout case is rare!

Buckle clasp code is "O11"

The bracelet, which matches the era, is in good condition with almost no signs of wear.

Wrist shot!!
The black line 3, 6, and 9 indexes are irresistible!
The shiny silver letters are also very cool.

5-digit Explorer early model "Blackout/Silver Letter"
Blackout prices are stable and remain at high levels.
The production numbers are low, making them highly rare, and most importantly, they're cool.
This is definitely a model worth targeting and one that you should grab while you can.
An overhaul was completed at our affiliated workshop in August 2024.
Customers looking for a silver letter blackout,
Thank you for your consideration.
