The 3rd generation Explorer "Ref.1016" was manufactured from around 1959 to around 1990.
This vintage Explorer has undergone various specification changes throughout its long manufacturing period.

The one we've just acquired features an early mirror dial, which is rarely seen.
Its appealing characteristic is its beautiful, mirror-like luster.
It is a rare dial, with an overwhelmingly small number of examples among vintage models.

This particular piece has a dazzling mirror dial with its beautiful luster well-preserved.
Just recently, I introduced another Ref.1016 with a superb lustrous mirror, and to have another dazzling mirror, which is rarely seen, arrive so soon...
It's strange how things like this sometimes happen.
As the market supply seems to be drastically decreasing,
when you encounter such a piece, it's an opportunity!

How about it?
It's beautiful, isn't it? This is what I call a top-class luster!
It's a stunning mirror dial.

The dial condition is excellent, with only very slight minor scratches visible under a loupe.
There are no noticeable scratches or deterioration!
The moderately aged tritium luminescence is also very nice!

This particular piece features an early dial from the non-circle mirror era, and a distinctive feature is that the 3, 6, and 9 indices use the same font as the circle mirror.
This is a rare dial that is very seldom seen, and if you try to find one, it's quite difficult to come across.

The hands have been replaced later and the lume has been corrected, but the overall aesthetic remains intact.

The sparkle of the gold-painted logo and minute lines is incredibly cool!
Gold lettering stands out beautifully against the jet black!

While there are signs of use, the case and bracelet give a solid and pleasing impression.

As you can see, the mid-case has not undergone excessive finishing, and it remains relatively robust.

For models of this era, a riveted bracelet is an indispensable detail!

The buckle clasp is from 1964, second quarter.

The riveted bracelet shows some natural stretching, but it's attached with a good impression!

Nonetheless, this particular piece has such a great look!
It's definitely rare to find such an early non-circle dial in such excellent condition!!

Wrist shot!!
Enjoy the incredibly cool, sparkling jet-black mirror!!

Vintage Explorer "Ref.1016/64"
This is a highly recommended rare piece with an early non-circle mirror dial, which is extremely scarce!
Wearing such a dazzling jet-black mirror definitely lifts your spirits (lol).
The market price seems to be gradually rising, so if you're interested, be sure to check it out!
For customers seeking the ultimate cool 1016 mirror dial,
Please consider this watch.
