hello everyone.

This month, there was big news for me and for all the fans of Patek Philippe . What is it? There's no point in dragging it out, so I'll tell you straight away: the price has been revised!! The price is already in the high range, so I'm not going to complain about it, but it's likely to have some effect on the market price going forward.

Today, we would like to introduce some reasonably priced Patek Philippe models that we sell in our store, as well as some popular models whose prices have not yet risen too much.

*Please note that due to the schedule for posting this column, the product may already be sold out.

"Ref.5960P-001" Annual Calendar Chronograph Platinum

First of all, the background to this innovative design is the debut of the groundbreaking automatic chronograph caliber "Cal. CH28-520" released in 2006.

It is no exaggeration to say that the innovative design, which had never been seen in Patek Philippe before, was due to this highly functional movement. It adopted the vertical clutch system that other brands also announced, was equipped with a flyback function, had both the hour and minute counters on the same axis at the 6 o'clock position, and was equipped with an annual calendar, a practical complex mechanism, which is something that can only be described as Patek Philippe .

Up until then, Patek Philippe models had tended to emphasize classic and traditional designs, so to be honest, I remember being completely confused at the time. That's how much of an impact it had.

At the time, I think Patek Philippe was one of the brands whose prices were particularly rising until the Lehman Shock. This "Ref. 5960P-001" was priced at around 6 million yen including tax at official domestic stores, but on the second hand market, it was priced at around 10 million yen in unused or new condition. After that, various additional dials were released, and in 2014, it was announced that production would be discontinued. By the way, I recall that the final price was over 9 million yen at the official domestic retail price.

Taking that into consideration, the currently available "Ref. 5960P-001" has a platinum case and a size of 40.5mm, making it easy to use, and in terms of functionality it also has a chronograph and annual calendar, so I think the selling price is quite good value and reasonable.

Looking at it again, the gray dial has a luxurious feel and is very beautiful. The watch being sold by Commit this time is complete, including all accessories such as the calendar setting pin and booklets. It was overhauled by the manufacturer in May 2020, so you can use it with peace of mind. *Patek Philippe watches that are overhauled by the manufacturer come with a two-year repair warranty from the date of issue. The case and buckle are unpolished and in very good condition.

"Ref.5167R-001" Aquanaut Extra Large 18KRG

Next, I think it's unnecessary to explain, but it's the extra large size 18KRG (rose gold) case of the Aquanaut , which is equally as popular as the Nautilus among Patek Philippe . The Aquanaut is known for its "tropical band" made of composite material for the strap, which I think is particularly popular.

The color is a stylish chocolate brown that matches the dial. I think the color is very elegant and perfect for the coming autumn. The slightly glossy brown dial is suitable for the 18KRG (rose gold) case, and gives off a glamorous yet somewhat calm impression. The brown of the tropical band is neither too light nor too dark, so I think it's just the right color.

As for the size, it is said to be extra large, but the case is 40.8mm and the thickness is 8.1mm, so it is very comfortable to wear. The "Ref. 5167R-001" currently being sold at Commit Ginza is a relatively old model sold in 2017 according to the warranty date. There are some scratches and small marks, but it is likely not polished and is in very good condition.

The warranty card is slightly wider than the current model and has a firm texture. *Only the part with the purchaser's name written on it has been cut. The SS (stainless steel) model is particularly popular, and considering the domestic regular sales price, I think the market selling price is set at twice or nearly twice as much. Even with that in mind, the "Ref. 5167R-001" we are introducing this time is a model that we recommend you get.

I don't think I need to explain this again, but the official domestic sales price of Patek Philippe was revised in October 2020. As some of you may have already noticed, the sales price of this model has increased by more than 400,000 yen.

Looking at the recent market trends and distribution situation, I personally think that unless something unforeseeable happens, the actual market price will not fall from the current level (lol).

summary

This time, we have picked out and introduced the annual calendar chronograph "Ref. 5960P-001," which is reasonably priced, and the popular Aquanaut model "Ref. 5167R-001," whose price has not yet risen that much.

Although this will be on an irregular basis, I would like to continue to write columns about new models that I would like to introduce, rare models, and models that I have a special attachment to.

Patek Philippe is a brand that I personally have a special attachment to, and we are always actively seeking new buyers, so if you are thinking of selling, please feel free to contact us.
