Good evening everyone.
Did you know that Commit Ginza (hereinafter referred to as our store) currently has a large inventory of "Grand Complication" watches equipped with complex mechanisms? If you compare them with the regular retail price, you will see that they are priced very reasonably.
This time, we would like to introduce a model from the "Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" "Ref. 5270" series, which is particularly popular among the "Grand Complications."
Although it is a difficult model to obtain, the official retail price has been rising year by year, which may cause many people to hesitate to purchase it. Conversely, the selling price on the secondary market remains low, so if you are thinking of purchasing one, now is a great opportunity. Please read to the end and consider purchasing it. Please read to the end!
"Ref.5270J-001"
"Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" 18KYG
As a new release for 2020, the Perpetual Calendar Chronograph "Ref. 5270J-001" is presented in a combination of an 18KYG (yellow gold) case and a silver opaline dial.
The first "Ref. 5270" model was released in 2011 as the successor to the "Ref. 3970," but the 18KYG (yellow gold) case was introduced relatively recently and is still on sale today. While we have stocked many "Ref. 5270" series watches, the "Ref. 5270J-001" has actually been in short supply, making this the second one we have stocked at our store.
The dial design is basically the same as that of the third-generation Perpetual Calendar Chronograph "Ref. 5270G-018," "Ref. 5270G-019," and "Ref. 5270R-001" that were released in 2015.
The scale on the outer periphery of the dial is generally inward, and the scale of the calendar section at 6 o'clock is cut off. In addition, the sub-dial hands (second hand, 30-minute counter hand, calendar display hand) have been changed from the conventional leaf shape to a sleek, thin rod-like design, resulting in a very refined look.
The stepped lug design, which seemed a bit odd when I first saw the "Ref. 5270" series, has now become a case design that symbolizes the completed "Ref. 5270."
The reverse-curved bezel is also a design that is used on the historic "Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" model "Ref. 2499," which can now be found almost exclusively at overseas watch auctions. The classic 18KYG (yellow gold) case and silver dial combination, a classic among leather strap models, gives this watch a somewhat classical impression, despite being a modern watch.
The third-generation "Ref. 3970" model, featuring the recently resurgent "perpetual calendar chronograph" movement, features a major change from its predecessor (fourth-generation "Ref. 5970"): the Lemania-based "Caliber CH 27-70 Q" to the fully in-house "Caliber CH 29-535 PS Q." This change results in a larger calendar window below 12 o'clock, a leap year window at 5 o'clock, and a day/night indicator at 8 o'clock, resulting in a more easily understandable dial design. Despite featuring both a chronograph and a perpetual calendar mechanism, the case is only 12.4mm thick, boasting a maximum power reserve of approximately 65 hours when the chronograph is not in operation.
The warranty is dated March 2022. All accessories are included, and although there are some minor scratches and discoloration due to use, it appears to have never been polished and is in excellent condition with no noticeable scratches or scuffs. The watch has minimal signs of wear and the selling price is very attractive, so we highly recommend it to anyone looking for one.
I was wondering about the selling price, but we received an order for this product shortly after it was posted on our website. The regular domestic selling price is 31,510,000 yen (tax included), and even compared to that, this was a very attractive selling price, so we think that anyone who purchased it got a good deal.
"Ref.5270P-001"
"Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" PT
The long-awaited Perpetual Calendar Chronograph "Ref. 5270P-001" was released in 2018 as the series' long-awaited PT (platinum) case model.
Compared to the previously released "Ref. 5270" series, the dial design is clearly different, with the bar-shaped indexes from 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock replaced with applied Arabic numerals. The "salmon pink" and "copper" dials, which have been used on classic and special models, also show how this model stands out. The hands, indexes, subdials, and tachymeter scale are all black, providing high visibility and a nice vintage feel.
There are some minor scratches and inconspicuous marks that appear to have been caused during storage, but the unpolished, unworn case and buckle give the watch a solid impression and make it a good watch.
What's more, this model has a warranty date of January 2022, meaning it was sold one month before the end of production was announced.
*Production of this model has now ended, replacing the "Ref. 5270P-014," which was released as a new model this year with a PT (platinum) case and lacquered green dial, which is also the current model.
The warranty, box, adjustment pins, additional closed back, booklets, and other accessories are all almost untouched and in perfect condition. This is a one-owner watch with a solid, non-polished case and folding buckle, and is a recommended example, having been sold in the same year that production was discontinued.
I wanted to ask about the selling price, but we also received an order to purchase this item shortly after it was posted on our website.
The official domestic retail price is 34,790,000 yen (tax included), but needless to say, our retail price was set very attractively, so we think that anyone who purchased it would have felt that they got a great deal.
summary
What did you think?
As a result, we ended up introducing a model that has already been confirmed for sale, but the leather strap model continues to be available at a very reasonable price. Not only is the price great, but good models sell quickly, so if a model you're interested in arrives, we recommend you make your decision (purchase) as soon as possible!
We will continue to introduce as many attractive and highly recommended models as possible, so please look forward to the next issue!
See you next time!
