Hello!
This is Kaneko from Commit Ginza.
Today, I'd like to introduce a recommended vintage Day-Date model!

Rolex Day-Date All Tritium
Ref.1803/8 Serial.51 (Manufactured around 1976-77)
Cal.1556 Japan Bracelet
Accessories: Box, warranty card (Hong Kong/open)
In-store price: 4,378,000 yen (tax included)

The vintage Day-Date "Ref. 1803" was manufactured from the 1960s to the late 1970s.
The model we are introducing today features a champagne dial, a classic color for dress watches.

The 4-digit Day-Date models are characterized by a dial where the outer circumference is stepped down,
making the center of the dial appear raised.
The stepped dial on the outer circumference, which gives off a vintage vibe,
maintains an excellent condition for a watch manufactured around 1973.
Look at this beautiful condition! !
It's in superb condition with no flaws even under a loupe!
The luminous material on the indexes is in perfect condition with no missing parts! !

Although there are some scuffs and minor scratches from use,
the case and bracelet remain in excellent condition.

As you can see, the middle case has sharp edge lines! !
It's rare to find a Ref. 1803 in such good condition.

The bracelet is a rare "Japan bracelet" specification! !

This is a solid gold bracelet made in Japan, known as the "Japan bracelet",
with "MADE IN JAPAN" engraved on the inner plate of the buckle.
At the time, import duties from Switzerland were high,
so only the watch body was sent, and the bracelets were apparently manufactured in various countries.

This particular watch comes with a warranty card issued by Rolex Hong Kong,
and the guarantee shows a stamp indicating that it was sold with a leather strap at the time.
Additionally, a separate Mitsukoshi warranty card with a serial number, issued in 1978, is also included.
Therefore, although it cannot be definitively stated, it is highly probable that the original owner purchased the Japan bracelet at Mitsukoshi,
and later had the watch converted to a bracelet specification.

While it remains speculative,
it's a very interesting piece that offers a glimpse into its history through its accessories.
The ability to imagine such a backstory
is one of the unique charms of vintage Rolex!

The Japan bracelet is unfortunately small, with a maximum wrist circumference of 15.5cm,
but its condition is surprisingly excellent! !
The bracelet is in top condition with virtually no stretch! !
This is the first time I've seen a Japan bracelet in such good condition.

It has a great face! !
A very impressive vintage Day-Date! !

Accessories include the box, warranty card, Mitsukoshi warranty card, spring bar purchase/delivery statement,
and chronometer tag! !

Wrist shot! !
If you're looking for a beautiful vintage Day-Date, you should definitely check this out!
