Hello!

Kaneko from Commit Ginza is pleased to introduce a recommended wristwatch!

Today we have a rare dial on a Boy's Explorer.

Rolex Boy's Explorer Underline/Double T<25
Ref.5500 Serial.9 (manufactured around 1964)
Cal.1530 FF57/6635 Clasp code 65.2 Case back 63.4
Accessories: Watch only
SOLD OUT!!

The watch I'm introducing today is a rare Explorer/Ref.5500, said to have been sold in the UK for a certain period.

Since there are many redialed versions and original models are hard to come by, it is a rare model whose rarity increases year by year.

This popular vintage model always sells out quickly whenever we get it in stock, but recently we haven't received any, so this is our first time in a while!

If you're looking for one, be sure to check it out!

This model features an Explorer dial on an Air-King/Ref.5500, giving it a distinctive smaller size of 34mm.

Compared to the original Ref.1016 (right), the case size differs by 2mm,
so it's recommended for those who find the 1016 a bit too large!

Recently, the number of people looking for slightly smaller 34mm models has increased compared to before,
and there's a growing interest in classic vintage sizes.

The size that fits neatly on the wrist is very easy to use,
and being able to enjoy the unique vintage atmosphere that current models lack is also appealing!

The dial is a mirror dial. The gold lettering looks cool!

The condition of mirror dials significantly impacts their value, but this piece boasts a glossy, shiny mirror dial with excellent luster.

There is some age-related aging visible with a loupe, but it's no exaggeration to say that the luster is top-notch.

The luminous material on the indexes is also in excellent condition, with no noticeable missing parts.

The luminous material is all tritium.

The hands show age-appropriate discoloration, but they have a nice vintage character!

This mirror dial has two rare points, so pay attention!

"Underline"

If you look closely, you'll see a thin "━" called an underline below the SUPER PRECISION notation.

It is said that this dial indicates that the radioactive material in the early tritium-equipped models is below the regulated standard.

Furthermore, this individual also has the rare dial characteristic of this era, with two T<25 markings next to the SWISS notation.

We've only handled one Boy's Explorer with an underline x double T<25 in the past, but upon closer inspection, the position of the T<25 SWISS T<25 marking was a different type of dial.

The 5500/Boy's Explorer truly has a rich variety of dials.

The condition shows age-appropriate signs of wear, but there are no significant scratches, making for a good impression.

The mid-case has some polishing, but it is solid without excessive finishing.

A rivet bracelet is essential for a mirror dial!

The rivets are the rare 6635/extension type.

The buckle clasp is engraved with 65.2.

Nevertheless, this piece has a great look!

Wrist shot! So cool!

Please enjoy this shiny, glossy mirror!

Boy's Explorer "Ref.5500 Underline/Double T<25 63-64"

Among the scarce Boy's Explorers, this one features an underline with "T<25 SWISS T<25" notation on the dial, which is a desirable characteristic for vintage enthusiasts!

The mirror dial in brilliant condition has an exceptional ambiance and is highly recommended.

For customers looking for a special vintage Explorer,
please consider this one.
