First Generation Sea-Dweller "Ref.1665"
This model was created in 1967 in collaboration with the diving research company COMEX!
Among these, the early models have "SEA-DWELLER" and "SUBMARINER 2000" printed in red,
which is why they are commonly known as "Red Sea-Dwellers".
They are also referred to as "DRSD" (Double Red Sea-Dweller).

The Red Sea-Dweller was produced for approximately 10 years until around 1977,
but it is a much rarer model than the Red Submariner.
Among them, early dials are extremely rare and difficult to come across.

Including the prototype model/MK0, the Red Sea-Dweller is classified into 5 types up to MK4.
The watch we are introducing today is the MK2 dial, which is highly rare even among Red Sea-Dwellers.
The dial features a charming, somewhat chubby crown mark.

Furthermore, this particular piece is a rare tropical dial that has turned brown, which is said to exist on MK2 dials!

Here's a comparison with a 1680/Red Submariner MK4 dial (right).
What do you think?
When compared like this, a clear difference in color can be seen!!

Although there is some unevenness in color,
it's rare to find a piece with such strong tropicalization.
Speaking of Red Sea-Dweller Tropical, a Red Sea-Dweller/MK2 was just featured at Sotheby's HK auction the other day!
It was a piece with serial number 30 that had evenly and beautifully turned brown,
and it was hammered down at an astonishing price of 640,000 Hong Kong dollars, including commission,
which is approximately 13 million Japanese yen!
That's expensive~.
It was a high-priced bid, as expected from an international auction!!

The piece introduced has some scratches, noticeable upon close inspection, on the outer edge of the dial,
but the dial surface itself remains in relatively clean condition.

The luminous material on the indexes is in good condition, beautifully transitioning to a creamy color.

As you can see, the condition of the luminous hands is also excellent!

The bezel insert is MK2!
It's equipped with an MK2 insert in excellent condition, so
the watch has a very good overall appearance!
The gray faded insert and tropical dial combine perfectly,
making it incredibly cool!

The thick bezel and case of the "Ref.1665" are irresistible!!
I love this side-view angle, which has a unique vintage charm.
Since it is an early model with a 1.7 serial number,
the mid-case is also a rare thin case.

The inside of the straight logo case back is properly engraved with the serial number,
ensuring perfect consistency.

The case and bracelet show some signs of wear, but the overall condition is good!

The mid-case is solid, without excessive polishing.

The bracelet is a 9315/folded link bracelet!

The buckle clasp is from March 1970.

The slightly later bracelet has some natural stretching, but its condition is good!

Wrist shot!! Looks so cool~!!
This is a magnificent piece where you can truly enjoy one-of-a-kind aging!

A highly coveted model for vintage enthusiasts: the Red Sea-Dweller/1665 MK2, '68.
This Red Sea-Dweller boasts a fascinating dial with strong tropicalization!!
A Red Sea-Dweller MK2 with such a beautiful brown hue and excellent overall condition is undoubtedly rare!
For customers seeking an incredibly cool 1665 DRSD/MK2/tropical dial,
please consider this magnificent piece.
