Openwork, which first appeared in the 1930s, requires not only a watch's structure, but also a deep knowledge of materials and high finishing techniques. The first Royal Oak to use openwork, which requires the skills of such an engineer, was the Ref. 25829, released in 1996. Since then, many openwork models have been released, and in the past 10 years, the Royal Oak collection alone has released about 50 types. This new design allows you to fully enjoy the beauty of this historic openwork.

②Beauty that stands out through contrast

The stainless steel and black ceramic models feature pink gold coloring on the screws that secure the bezel, the inner bezel, and the openwork movement, creating an eye-catching contrast with the case and bracelet. On the other hand, the 18KYG (yellow gold) model is designed to create a contrast between the case, bracelet, and dial by combining charcoal gray colors.

In addition, the hour markers and hands are 18KWG ( white gold) for the SS (stainless steel) model and black rhodium for the black ceramic model, creating an emphasis on contrast within the dial.

The brand name and second display are printed on the inner bezel so as not to interfere with the beauty of the openwork, and every detail has been carefully considered.

The in-house movement "Cal. 3132" installed in this model employs a "double balance wheel" mechanism that achieves excellent precision and stability by setting two balances and a hairspring on the same axis . This is the world's first mechanism developed by Audemars Piguet in 2010 , and although it was patented, it required a high level of technical skill to commercialize it. The movement parts are cut using machines with the latest manufacturing technology, and finally polished by hand by artisans, combining cutting-edge technology with traditional craftsmanship to create a one-of-a-kind movement.
