In fact, this model was worn by Daniel Craig, well known for playing 007, at an Omega event held in New York last November. At the time, it had not yet been announced as a new model, so it was a hot topic among enthusiasts, but it has finally been unveiled this time.

This time, I would like to introduce the features and specifications of this popular model. Please enjoy reading until the end!

①Dial

The biggest feature of this model is that it is the first to feature a white dial with a glossy lacquer finish on a stainless steel Speedmaster. This was produced based on two important factors for Omega.

First of all, many people may associate the Speedmaster with the Moonwatch, which became famous after it was worn by astronauts as the official NASA watch from 1965 onwards, and was the first watch to be carried to the moon. The spacesuits are in two colours, white and black, and the captain's suit has a red line (indicating the commander's rank). This is exactly the colour scheme that is the basis of this design.

The second reason is the existence of a prototype of the "Alaska Project I" that Omega produced in 1969 as a top-secret project for NASA. This model features a white dial and an impactful red protective case. The "Speedmaster" introduced here is said to have been inspired by this model.

From these facts alone, it can be seen that this was an important timepiece that was released with great anticipation.

②Bezel and bracelet

The white dial is its biggest feature, but what's great about OMEGA is its attention to detail as well.

First of all, the bezel features a "dot over 90" tachymeter scale, which is a must-have for Speedmaster enthusiasts. Some of you may not know this, so I'll give a brief explanation: this is the name given to a watch with the tachymeter dot written diagonally above the number 90, rather than next to it.

Next, the bracelet is made of five links of various sizes, with links of about 5mm in size, making it comfortable to wear on the wrist. It also has a clasp that allows for easy fine-tuning of the size, showing how practical it is.

3. Equipped with "Cal.3861"

The movement is equipped with the Cal.3861, an updated version of the Cal.1861. This movement has been awarded the title of Master Chronometer, having passed eight extremely rigorous tests by COSC (Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute) and METAS (Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology). It incorporates a coaxial escapement, and is equipped with OMEGA's unique anti-magnetic technology and stop-second function, which have never been seen before, yet it has passed these rigorous tests.

summary

What did you think.

This bold face has an aura of being popular, but it doesn't seem to be a limited edition model, so I don't think it's impossible to get. However, it seems that it will be very popular and difficult to get it right away, so if you are lucky enough to buy it, please come and show us the actual machine. (laughs)

Once again , I hope that by reading this column, even one more person will become interested in luxury watches!

see you!
