To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Nautilus, the Nautilus Chronograph Ref. 5980/1A-019 has been newly added to the lineup.
This watch features a refreshing, glossy white dial that catches the eye, and was produced for only about two years, so it remains one of the rarest models even now, about 10 years after it was discontinued.
Before getting into the main topic, I would like to touch on the lineage of the Nautilus Chronograph.
The Nautilus' first chronograph model, Ref. 5980/1A-001, was released in 2006.
With a beautiful blue dial characteristic of the Nautilus and a silver-toned subdial at the 6 o'clock position, this watch has changed dramatically from the simple design of the past, and many people were probably surprised by this new design.

In 2010, the "Ref. 5980/1A-014" made of SS (stainless steel) and the "Ref. 5980R-001" made of 18KRG (rose gold) were released.
Both models have a sporty look, but also exude a sophisticated adult atmosphere. The Ref. 5980R-001 in particular has a leather strap instead of the traditional bracelet, making it a must-have for fans.
The "Ref. 5980/1A-019" that we will introduce this time was released in 2012.
Unlike the conventional dial design, the sub-dials are the same color as the dial, giving it a clean look. Incidentally, the three-hand model "Nautilus" with a white dial, "Ref. 5711/1A-011", was released in the same year.

In 2013, the SS (stainless steel) x 18KRG (rose gold) combination model "Ref. 5980/1AR-001" and the 18KRG (rose gold) solid gold model "Ref. 5980/1R-001" will be released.
The combination model is equipped with a colorful blue sunburst dial, giving it an elegant and glamorous impression, while the solid gold model is equipped with a black gradient dial, which can look gray or brown depending on how the light hits it, giving it a noble impression with its beautiful color.
*As of October 2023, the current models on sale are the gold models "Ref. 5980/1AR-001", "Ref. 5980R-001", and "Ref. 5980/1R-001", and production of the models made of SS (stainless steel) has already ended.
Let's get back to the main topic, "Ref. 5980/1A-019".
The case diameter is 40.5mm and the case thickness is 12.2mm, which is impressive, but the bracelet fits comfortably on the wrist and provides an excellent wearing experience. From the skeleton back, you can enjoy the flyback function chronograph movement "Cal. CH 28-520 C", which boasts a beauty that is comparable to that of a work of art.
This unit was overhauled and finished by the manufacturer in September 2023, so you can use it with peace of mind. I think it is very attractive that there are almost two years left of the manufacturer's repair warranty period.
The warranty date is January 2013. In addition to the warranty, the box, booklets, and other accessories are also included and the item is in good condition.
