The first Explorer II "Ref. 1655" manufactured from 1971 to 1983
Large orange 24-hour hand,
The base of the hands is painted black, the same as the dial.
The dial features a "phantom effect" that makes the luminous parts appear to be floating.
The large 24-hour hand and phantom effect have been inherited by the current model, Ref. 216570.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Explorer II.
Will there be a new release?
Probably will (laughs).
The current market price of the "Ref. 216570" is steadily rising.
In particular, white lettering/new guarantees are priced at a great rate.
Size change and ceramic bezel etc.
It's interesting to see such a big change in appearance.
Let's look forward to it!!
The model we are introducing this time is an early model manufactured around 1972.
The dial is the original "Type 1 dial" that matches the era.
It features a small crown mark!
The second hand is a straight hand without a luminous dot.
Important points: dial condition, luminous condition
It will be in excellent condition.
The bezel is equipped with a Type 2 bezel that matches the era.
The bezel is in excellent condition with sharp edges.
The Ref. 1655 exudes a vintage feel.
The retro bezel is also an attractive model.
Well then!!
The MK1 dial alone is attractive, but...
This product is an individual manufactured around 1972.
The case condition is also excellent and highly recommended!!
Check it out!!
This lug shape has sharp edges!!
It's very impressive!!
This is a rare example of a fine Ref. 1655 from this era.
As you can see from the case side, it is in excellent condition!!
The FF280/7836 bracelet is also wrinkled,
It is in relatively solid and good condition.
The overhaul was completed at Rolex Japan in May 2019.
No wonder the case condition is so good.
Wrist shot!!
The retro bezel and dial create an old-fashioned atmosphere.
It's a mysteriously intriguing vintage model!
The sharp bezel and case are what make it so cool!!
The first Explorer II "Ref.1655"
Such a well-balanced specimen is definitely rare!
This is a beautiful MK1 dial, which is rarely available in our store.
