The original Explorer II, manufactured from around 1971 to 1983,
“Ref.1655” has arrived!
The piece we are introducing today is
one of the earliest Ref.1655 models, with serial number 27.
It has been a long time since we received such an early model in our store,
and this is an absolutely superb piece, with near-perfect condition and accessories!!
Early MK1/early models in such excellent condition are rarely seen,
so if you have been looking for one, be sure to take a look!

First, let us introduce the features unique to this early model!!
The dial is an original “MK1 dial” appropriate for its era.
The MK1 dial features a small crown logo,
giving it a distinctive look unlike dials from later years!
It is a rare dial used only in the early production of the original Explorer II,
and this small crown logo is an irresistible point for fans of early models!!

The dial is in outstanding condition,
maintaining a beautiful state even under a loupe.
It is extremely rare to see an MK1 dial in such perfect condition.

The luminous material on the indices is also in wonderful condition, with no visible chips!!
The heavily patinated tritium lume also looks great.

The lume is all tritium.
The luminous hands are also in outstanding condition!
The seconds hand is a “straight hand” without a luminous dot.
This straight hand is also an essential feature of early models!!

The bezel is also the earliest “MK1” bezel.
The bold 24-hour markings arranged on the inside are characteristic of the MK1 bezel.
Recently, models with MK1 bezels have become extremely rare.
The condition is top-tier. Although MK1 bezels are already rare,
such a superb MK1 bezel with well-defined edges is
truly rare and seldom seen.

Since the bezel is a very important point for the Ref.1655,
a piece in such top condition with an MK1 bezel, which was only in production for about one year,
is undoubtedly rare!

The early case, characterized by its pointed crown guards, is also
an essential feature of early models.
It is difficult to find a piece with these features among MK1MK1 models.

The case and bracelet are also excellent pieces in top condition!

The middle case is in the condition shown!!
It is a superb piece with perfectly defined edges.

The edge lines and brushing are both in wonderful condition.
It is a rare opportunity to find such a superb piece from around 1971 that has maintained
such an attractive case condition!

Furthermore, this is an incredibly cool piece fitted with a period-correct final rivet bracelet!!

The buckle engraving is from the third 1971 production batch.

It is in extremely beautiful condition and is in top condition with almost no signs of wear!!
It is amazing that such a rare rivet bracelet is in this condition!!

The complete set of accessories for this piece is also attractive!!
It comes with a box (with a Ref. sticker), punched warranty booklet, chronometer certificate,
serial tag, chronometer tag, EX booklet, calendar, pass case, and extra links!!
When will we next see a piece that comes with both a warranty card and a chronometer certificate?

The box with the Ref. sticker is also rare.

Finally, a list shot!!
It exudes the divine aura unique to such a superb piece!!
Wow, this piece is incredibly cool!!
Its beauty cannot be fully conveyed through photos alone,
so be sure to hold it and see it for yourself!!
“Ref.1655/1971” with an MK1 dial × MK1 bezel × early case × straight handSuch a well-proportioned early model is already rare, but
finding a superb piece with such excellent overall condition is no easy task!!
It is a breathtakingly cool, superb piece that also comes with a complete set of accessories, making it the ultimate collector's item!!
If you are looking for a Ref.1655/early model, be sure to consider it!!
