Hello!

Kaneko from Commit Ginza will introduce a recommended wristwatch!

The "Sea-Dweller/Ref.1665", a true diver's watch representing Rolex,
was born in 1967 through joint development with the diving research company COMEX.

Based on the Submariner, it was developed to handle more serious deep-sea diving,
and with features like the helium escape valve,
it was a professional model boasting extremely high specifications for its time!

The individual we are introducing this time is a rare model seen only in early versions of the Ref.1665,
and because the two lines "SEA-DWELLER" and "SUBMARINER 2000" on the dial are printed in red,
it is commonly known as the "Red Sea-Dweller."

It is also known overseas by the nickname "DRSD (Double Red Sea-Dweller),"
and it is no exaggeration to say that it is a representative vintage Sea-Dweller!

There are five types of Red Sea-Dwellers, from MK0 (prototype model) to MK4.

The individual introduced here is an MK2 dial, which is highly rare among Red Sea-Dwellers.
The dial features an endearing, plump crown mark.

MK2 dials are said to be prone to fading from black to brown due to aging.

If you look closely at this individual, you can see a slight brown tint near the center of the hands,
but overall, the dial retains a beautiful black color.

Red Sea-Dwellers were produced for about 10 years until around 1977,
but they are a significantly rarer model than the Red Submariner.

Among them, a well-preserved MK2 dial is very difficult to come by,
and this is our first in a while.

This individual has a dial in excellent condition and is highly recommended!!

Although there is slight aging visible under a loupe,
the surface of the black dial remains in very clean condition.

The luminous material on the indexes is in good condition, and the tritium lume has beautifully creamed.

The luminous material on the hands is also natural with no noticeable repairs,
and the colors match perfectly.

The bezel insert is a period-correct MK3!
It is equipped with a well-preserved bold MK3 insert,
giving it a very good impression!

The case back has a straight logo and the serial number engraved on the inside.

While there are usage scratches on the case and bracelet,
the condition is good!!

The mid-case is in good condition with no excessive polishing!!

The hairline finish on the lugs is clean, and the edges are crisp!

The bracelet is a securely fitted 9315/riveted bracelet!

The buckle clasp is from the first quarter of 1972.

The period-correct riveted bracelet is also in good condition!

The thick bezel and case of the "Ref.1665" are irresistible!!
I love this side view angle, which gives it a unique vintage charm.
This model is highly recommended for those who want a truly rugged and cool watch!

Wrist shot!! It has a great look!!
This is a super cool vintage watch with a captivatingly beautiful face!!

The "Red Sea-Dweller/1665 MK2" exudes an exceptional vintage aura.
A Red Sea-Dweller MK2 dial with such excellent overall condition is rare!!
This is a well-preserved individual that is hard to come by, so don't miss it if you're looking for one!
It will be posted on our website after overhaul at our affiliated workshop.
For customers looking for the coolest 1665 DRSD/MK2 dial,
please consider it.
