SOLD OUT!!

The third generation Explorer "Ref. 1016" was manufactured from around 1960 to around 1990. Various specification changes were made during the long production period, making it a very popular vintage model with a wide variety of dial variations.

The item we have in stock this time is the early matte dial/MK1 manufactured around 1968.
The MK1 dial is a popular dial nicknamed "Frogfoot" because the font on the crown mark resembles a frog's foot.

The condition of the dial and luminous material is in very good condition for a watch manufactured around 1968.
The evenly-burned tritium on the hands and indexes also looks great!
I get the impression that many of these pieces have had their needles replaced, but what's appealing about them is the originality of the needles.

This is a comparison photo with the Ref. 1016/Frogfoot (right), which was also manufactured around 1968.
Can you see how the thickness of the 3, 6, and 9 indexes are completely different? The model we are introducing today (left) has thick luminous indexes at 3, 6, and 9, and features an adorable shape and a rare dial commonly referred to as "mega fat."
It's interesting to see such differences even among Explorers of the same era. There are some small scratches on the case and bracelet from use, but the watch is in good overall condition.

This is a recommended model with an early mega fat dial and well-matched parts!!
The beautiful tritium luminous surface is also very attractive!
A well-equipped mega fat/explorer like this is definitely rare.
If you are looking for a Ref . 1016 with a great atmosphere , please consider this one .
