The "Ref.1680" was introduced in 1969 as the first Submariner Date.

Among them, early models manufactured from 1969 to around 1975, where the SUBMARINER text is printed in red, are
popular vintage models known as the "Red Sub".

The distinctive design with the red SUBMARINER text as an accent, as well as
its high recognition and popularity among vintage Rolex watches,
make it a classic model that continues to fascinate many fans!

The individual we are introducing this time has a dial, bezel, bracelet, etc.,
that are all consistent with its age, making it a highly recommended piece!
Furthermore, its condition is also appealing, so please check it out!

The dial is MK5.
The horizontal bar of the "f" and "t" in the water resistance notation "660ft" are on the same line, and
it features an open "6" on the dial.

Red Subs have a wide variety of dial variations, but broadly speaking,
MK1 to MK3 are meter-first (200m=660ft notation),
and MK4 to MK6 are feet-first (660ft=200m notation).

The dial condition is exceptionally good, and it looks very clean even under a loupe!
While many pieces show deterioration over time,
it's rare to find one that maintains such a beautiful condition!

The tritium luminous material on the indexes also maintains a wonderful condition overall.
The aging is subtle, and the clean, somewhat white color is very appealing!

The condition of the luminous hands is also good!
There is some very natural aging,
but no noticeable cracks or other flaws can be found, making it a good condition.

The MK3 bezel with its fat font is also an attractive feature!
Although there are some scratches, the black color remains vibrant,
making it a very appealing insert! The presence of this insert is a major plus!

The case and bracelet have some signs of wear, but are in good condition.

In particular, the middle case is in good, solid condition!

As you can see, the edges of the lug feet are perfectly sharp!
The hairline finish is also beautiful!

This Red Submariner from this era comes with a folded link bracelet, which is essential.

The buckle clasp is stamped 72.2.
The coronet mark is slightly thinned from polishing, but its shape remains distinct.
While it's in a condition appropriate for its age, this sense of use is part of the charm of vintage watches.

The age-appropriate folded link bracelet has some looseness, but
it fits snugly on the wrist and offers the comfortable feel unique to folded link bracelets!
