overview
Features
①Patented CFT (Chromaforged Technology) carbon case
The most distinctive feature of this watch is the case material. The CFT carbon case, which Audemars Piguet spent five years researching and developing, is kneaded with powdered pigment (a luminous material). The black base color and blue and gray gradations create a unique atmosphere, and the blue luminous material also glows in the dark.
Currently, the luminous material commonly used in the watch industry is Super-LumiNova, but this model uses a new heat-resistant pigment because it cannot withstand the high heat of 120 degrees required to mold the carbon.
The new CFT carbon case is different from conventional carbon in that it is colored directly onto the fiber instead of using resin, allowing for greater freedom of expression. In addition, by reducing the resin ratio compared to conventional forged carbon, scratch resistance has also been improved.
Other brands have used luminous forged carbon in the past, but only on the bezel and not on the case. This is an innovative watch that is typical of Audemars Piguet, which upholds the philosophy of "tradition and innovation."
②Design that accentuates the carbon case
The design that brings out the CFT carbon case, the most distinctive feature of this model, is also not to be missed. In particular, the black ceramic bezel has a satin and polished finish that creates a striking contrast with the carbon case.
The crown, push buttons, and case back are also made of black ceramic, just like the bezel, and the push button guards are made of titanium. In addition, the case and crown are curved to fit the shape of the wrist, making them comfortable to wear.
③Black and blue openwork dial
The dial is openworked, allowing the movement and bridges to be admired, while the inner bezel and the outer zone of the three counters are finished in electric blue, echoing the blue of the middle case, creating a contrast with the black and grey of the movement.
The luminous 18KWG ( white gold) indexes and hands emit a blue light in the dark, just like the case. The absence of the brand logo is another point that highlights the two-tone design.
④ Flyback chronograph movement with easy operation
The movement, "Cal. 4407," is designed with ergonomics and ease of use in mind, despite its complex mechanism, and is based on the latest integrated flyback chronograph, "Cal. 4401 ," featured in the 2019 " CODE 11.59 by Audemars Piguet."
It also features a GMT , large date function, and a non-magnetic hairspring, making it an impressive piece of equipment. It also has beautiful decorations such as sandblasting, circular satin, and circular grain, which can be appreciated through the see-through case back.
