Three new models from the popular collaboration model between Omega and Swatch, commonly known as the "MoonSwatch," were released on June 15th.
"Moon Swatch Mission on Earth"
Up until now, the motifs have been solar system bodies and the moon, but this time the setting is Earth! Inspired by the magnificent nature of the Earth that can be seen from space, this new work features a new color scheme. ①Design based on the earth's natural motif
Until now, Moonswatch has featured models with motifs of celestial bodies in the solar system and the moon, but this time the design is inspired by the Earth.
The Mission on Earth Lava is inspired by the hot lava flowing from an active volcano. It features an eye-catching bright orange case and a black dial.
"Mission on Earth Desert" has a desert motif and is unified in a beige color throughout, making it perhaps the most versatile color of the three .
The Mission on Earth Polar Lights is inspired by the stars of the North Pole. The contrast between the greenish turquoise case and the black dial studded with small silver stars creates a fantastic color scheme.
②Homage to the past throughout the building
Another point is that it pays homage to past works throughout the watch, and the "Mission on Earth Lava" uses an orange second hand that pays homage to the OMEGA "Speedmaster " Ultraman " ", which was released in 2018 as a limited edition of 2012 pieces. In addition, the numbers on the three subdials are arranged in a radial pattern, the same as the "Speedmaster Alaska II" and "Speedmaster Project III".
Of course, many of the designs from the Moon Swatch have been inherited, including the battery cover on the back cover. Previous Moon Swatch models had designs of various celestial bodies on the battery cover on the back cover, but this model has a design of the Earth.
3) Bio-based parts
One of the distinctive features of the Moon Swatch is that it uses bio-ceramic, a material exclusive to Swatch. This is a bio-based material made from ceramic and castor oil, which is not only environmentally friendly but also durable and versatile.
