Since its establishment in 2016, Commit Ginza has bought and sold many watches considered to be masterpieces, including vintage Rolexes, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Richard Mille, and Lange.
This time, I will focus on vintage Rolex, Patek Philippe, and Audemars Piguet, and talk about past sales figures, current stock status, and the relationship between them, as well as how to identify a good store based on that.
Past sales
First, let's take a look at the past sales figures for vintage Rolex, Patek Philippe, and Audemars Piguet.
★Vintage Rolex: 495 units sold in the past, 28 units in stock ★Patek Philippe: 690 units sold in the past, 37 units in stock ★Audemars Piguet: 451 units sold in the past, 15 units in stock
A total of over 2000
495+690+451=2000?
You may be wondering if Commit can no longer add up numbers, but here we will tell you some secret information that is specific to the industry (for some stores).
As mentioned above, these cases are not rare, but occur frequently.
This leads to a total figure of over 2,000 .
Current stock status
Next, we will inform you of the current stock situation.
★28 vintage Rolexes in stock ★37 Patek Philippe watches in stock ★15 Audemars Piguet watches in stock
A total of 80

That's not much (laughs).
Relationship between past sales and inventory
Over 2000 units have been sold in the past, but only 90 are in stock. This is an overwhelming imbalance... Is Commit Ginza weak in rare items and super models, such as vintage Rolexes? What is the reality?
The reality of Commit Ginza
Until two years ago, our store was closed on Sundays and we also had overseas business trips (participating in auctions around the world *currently unable to go there due to COVID-19), so on average, our business days were about 300 days (approximately).
300 business days x 7 years x 1 bottle per day = 2100 bottles
What does this mean?
The answer is obvious. The turnover rate is overwhelmingly fast. In other words, on average, the products are sold out within 1-2 weeks of arrival. In some cases, they are sold out on the same day. Therefore, the stock disappears from the store shelves quickly.
The number of products available in stores is not particularly large even by domestic standards.
However, below are some of the watches we have sold in the past.

These sales figures are probably among the highest in the country.
How to find a good store
There are many stores that have large stocks and sell rare items.
However, the most important thing to consider when looking for a good store is whether the product is actually selling.
[Bad flow caused by misunderstandings]
What often happens is that products continue to be listed at prices higher than the market price without selling, and the lineup continues to grow. At this point, customers who are sensitive to market prices realize that the prices are too high and the products won't sell. However, customers who don't know the market prices search the site for the first time in a while and mistakenly think, "They're selling at a very high price!" or "This store has a lot of stock!" and decide to "sell it."
*Market prices refer to global auction prices, the global watch buying and selling website "Chrono24," and actual buying and selling prices.
summary
At our store, we accurately determine the market price, sell just above that price, and buy just below that price. In other words, we have the thinnest profit margins in the country. And as a result, from the founding of Commit to the present day, many people have purchased our products, and the percentage of those who buy them back has exceeded 100%.

In light of these results, we decided to launch this project to explain the true nature of luxury watches to customers in a way that is easier to understand.
Once again, I felt the importance of past sales figures and their speed of turnover, their relationship with inventory, and the importance of identifying good stores, and I wanted to inform everyone of the reality of this which is rampant on websites (the Internet).
