hello everyone.

In this issue of Patek Philippe , we would like to introduce some very attractive new and old chronographs that have just arrived.

As for the older chronographs, I was just talking to a customer who happened to come in just before they arrived, because there were very few of them in circulation and they were rarely seen on the market, so I was very surprised when they arrived (laughs).

Well, let me get started with the introduction.

"Ref.5170P-001" Chronograph Platinum

The "Ref. 5170G-010," which we have previously introduced in our Patek Philippe article, was announced in 2015 but production ended after just two years. It features a very cool 18KWG (white gold) case, black dial, and applied Breguet numerals.

The Ref. 5170P-001, which has finally been released as a new model for 2017 to replace the Ref. 5170G-010, is made of platinum (PT). The gradient blue dial features baguette-cut diamond indexes, creating a beautiful and gorgeous atmosphere. This was the first time I had actually held the watch in my hands and looked at it closely, but I am already fascinated by this model. (laughs)

Diamonds set on the bezel add a sense of luxury, but they can also look a bit over the top. This model has long baguette-cut diamonds set on the index, which gives it a slightly understated look while still giving it the special presence that only a PT (platinum) model can offer.

The movement seen through the skeleton case back is the "Cal.CH 29-535 PS", which was developed and manufactured entirely in-house, instead of the previous Lemania-based "Cal.CH 27-70". It has now become an indispensable movement when talking about Patek Philippe . What impresses me about Patek Philippe chronographs is the feeling you get when you press the start and reset pushers, which is very difficult to describe in words, but I would love for everyone to experience it for themselves.

Condition: There are some minor scratches due to the specifications, but the case and buckle do not appear to have been polished and are in good condition. The warranty date is October 2018.
It comes with all the accessories such as booklets and is in very good condition.

Recently, it is rare to see this watch in domestic watch stores, and even a certain well-known overseas website has listings for it with unclear stock, so I think there are definitely very few watches actually for sale.

If you're wondering about the price, it's 11,880,000 yen (tax included) !!

"Ref.5172G-001" Chronograph 18KWG

Next is the long-awaited model "Ref. 5172G-001", the successor to the previous chronograph "Ref. 5170" produced from 2010 to 2019. The 18KWG (white gold) case and blue dial with matte varnish paint are impressive. When I first saw it, I thought it had a more military feel in a good way, and the design was reminiscent of a pilot's watch. Personally, I really like the design. The case diameter has also increased by about 1.5 mm, but perhaps due to the good quality of Patek Philippe , it gives off a very sophisticated impression.

Additionally, the motif is the distinctive stepped lugs commonly seen in the 1940s and 1950s, and the round pushers are also decorated with guilloche engraving, which is also used in the annual calendar chronograph "Ref. 5960/01G-001," demonstrating the attention to detail.

The movement visible through the skeleton back is the "Cal. CH 29-535 PS", which was developed and manufactured entirely in-house.
This has been continued from the previous "Ref. 5170". It's a beauty that you never get tired of, no matter how many times you look at it.

There are minor scratches throughout the watch due to use, but considering the look of this watch, I think a few scratches are part of the charm.

Of course, all accessories are included. The warranty card is dated January 2021, so there is plenty of time left on the manufacturer's warranty, making this a product we highly recommend.

There are still very few of these for sale in Japan, so if you are considering purchasing one, we highly recommend this one. We will start selling them in stores soon, so please wait a little longer.
