Good evening everyone.

How are you spending the New Year holidays? The 2024-2025 New Year holidays will be a maximum of nine consecutive days off, so many people may be traveling abroad.

In the meantime, our store, Commit Ginza, is open (on a reduced schedule) except on New Year's Day, so if you have business in Ginza, we hope you'll come and visit us! *Please check our website for opening hours during the New Year holidays.

Now, as we close out 2024, we would like to announce the ranking of high-priced sales of Patek Philippe watches that we handled in our store in 2024!
If you are a regular visitor to our website, you can probably guess what the top choice is, but please enjoy until the end!

*Please note that the market evaluation and market price of some watches may have changed between the time they were handled and the time of writing (as of December 30, 2024).

5th place: Minute Repeater "Ref.5078G-010" 18KWG

The Minute Repeater "Ref. 5078G-010" was announced as a new model for 2019.

This model features an impressive dial with a matte arabesque geometric pattern laser-cut onto black enamel, and as the model name suggests, its greatest feature is the beautiful sound produced by the minute repeater.

The Ref. 5078, released in 2005, started its history with a PT (platinum) case and a dial that imitates a traditional pocket watch, with a white enamel dial and a black lacquer dial in different colors. With a 38mm case and a simple small second hand, it may look like a Calatrava, but if you look at the repeater lever on the side of the case at 9 o'clock, you will see that it is no ordinary watch. It is a stylish piece that will beautifully decorate your wrist in any situation.

The listed price at the time of sale was 60,500,000 yen (tax included).

Although there were some scratches and scuffs from use, the non-polished case and buckle made it a solid, well-made watch. It was a typical Patek Philippe watch.

4th place: "Perpetual Calendar Split Second Chronograph" "Ref.5004P-021" PT

The "Ref. 5004P-021" was released in the mid-1990s, approximately 10 years after the third-generation "Perpetual Calendar Chronograph," the "Ref. 3970," and featured an additional "split-second" mechanism.

The case diameter is 37mm, which is a moderate size, but the case thickness is about 15mm due to the "split second" mechanism, which makes it an impressive specification. Furthermore, the large crown gives it an outstanding presence when worn on the wrist. In addition, the combination of the Arabic numerals, the circle-shaped in-dial design, and the leaf hand can simply be described as "cool".

The movement "Cal. CHP 27-70 Q" based on the Nouvelle Lemania is highly functional, with a "split-second" mechanism added to the "perpetual calendar chronograph", but its three-dimensional structure also gives it a stunning design that is almost like a work of art.

The listed price at the time of sale was 65,650,000 yen (tax included).

This particular item was in a sealed state, so it was priced a little higher than a regular second-hand item.

3rd place: Advanced Research Aquanaut Travel Time "Ref.5650G-001" 18KWG

In 2017, the "Ref. 5650G-001" was released in a worldwide limited edition of 500 pieces to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the birth of the Aquanaut.

This watch is the perfect embodiment of the mission given to Patek Philippe's president, Thierry Stern, by his father, Chairman Philippe Stern: to create a watch with the same precision as a tourbillon without using one.

Equipped with a travel time mechanism in an 18KWG (white gold) case, and with an open dial from 8 to 10 o'clock, this watch allows you to fully experience Patek Philippe's technological innovation. This is a special watch that can be said to be one of a kind in terms of design, functionality, and rarity.

The listed price at the time of sale was 66,600,000 yen (tax included).

Designed with the aim of conducting cutting-edge research and studies, Advanced Research is not only a dream watch that demonstrates Patek Philippe's passion for watchmaking, but is also highly valuable.

2nd place: Minute Repeater Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar Retrograde "Ref.5016R-010" 18KRG

The "Minute Repeater Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar Retrograde" "Ref. 5016R-010" is an extraordinary model that is equipped with all of the typical complicated mechanisms of luxury watches: minute repeater, tourbillon, perpetual calendar, and retrograde.

Equipped with four extremely expensive complicated mechanisms, this is an extremely rare model and can almost only be seen at overseas auctions these days.

In addition, the combination of 18KRG (rose gold) case and silver opaline dial is a simple design that is often seen in dress watches, but it exudes warmth and depth, and exudes a mature and sexy look. When you think about the complex mechanisms that are lavishly packed into this mere 37mm case diameter, you can't help but feel the overwhelming technical prowess of Patek Philippe.

The listed price at the time of sale was 79,750,000 yen (tax included).

As you may know, Patek Philippe tourbillon models cannot be viewed from the front, and this model is no different; it only has the word "TOURBILLON" written underneath the moon phase display at 6 o'clock. This is apparently the result of considering the functionality and practicality of placing the tourbillon on the back, so if you want to view it, you'll have to make do with viewing it from the back. (laughs)

1st place: Nautilus TIFFANY & CO. "Ref. 5711/1A-018" SS

The honorable first place goes to...

To celebrate the long and successful partnership between Tiffany & Co. and Patek Philippe, the Nautilus Ref. 5711/1A-018 will be sold in a limited edition of 170 pieces in 2021, the 170th anniversary of the pair's founding.

This luxurious collaboration model is based on the Ref. 5711/1A, a particularly popular Nautilus model with a stainless steel case, automatic winding, and three-hand design, and features a dial in Tiffany & Co.'s corporate color, turquoise blue . You can tell at a glance that this is a Tiffany & Co. co. double-name model with the vibrant Tiffany blue lacquer dial, which is refreshing yet luxurious, will make you feel excited just by looking at it.

The skeleton screw-back is printed with "170th ANNIVERSARY" on the top, "1851 - 2021" in the center, and "TIFFANY & CO - PATEK PHILIPPE" on the bottom, making it a special watch down to the smallest detail. The movement used is, of course, the final model of the new movement "Cal.26-330 SC".

The listed price at the time of sale was 198,000,000 yen (tax included).

Personally, this was a model I really wanted to handle. I have handled many wonderful Patek Philippe models up until now, but I think you will agree that this is one of the most memorable and record-breaking models. It may be difficult to expect future stock, but I will do my best to introduce it to you again next year. This is undoubtedly number one!!
