The first Submariner Date/Ref.1680.
This was manufactured from 1969 to 1976.
The early model with the SUBMARINER logo in red,
It is commonly known as the Red Sub .
The dial is MARK4.
The horizontal bars of the "f" and "t" in the waterproof rating of 660ft are not on the same line.
The dial features an open 6.
The MK4 dial is one of the more common dials among red subs.
This particular watch has a very good dial condition.
The hands will be tritium luminous hands from later years,
This one is also in good condition and well balanced with the index.
Many of the dials are damaged,
It is rare to find one in such beautiful condition.
The bezel insert bracelet (clasp engraved with VC) was introduced later,
