The third generation Explorer "Ref. 1016" manufactured from around 1960 to around 1990

The Vintage Explorer has undergone various specification changes over its long production period.

The model we purchased this time is the L number, which is the final product number.

There are also E-series models which were produced in extremely limited numbers, but R- and L-series models are popular years that are nearing the end of production.

The dial is the "Type 5 dial", the final dial produced from around 1986 to around 1990.

The L number alone is rare, but this is an attractive product that comes with all the accessories.

It's great that the final L model comes with a warranty.

There are still some older Ref. 1016s out there that come with a warranty, but this will likely become less and less common in the future.

If you think about it, it's worth it while you can.

The box is also very attractive. It comes with an original reflector sticker.

Am I the only one who is attracted to this kind of thing? (laughs)

The condition is slightly polished, but the case is sturdy.

The bracelet is slightly worn. The clasp cord is also consistent with the era.

The Explorer "Ref. 1016/L model" comes with a warranty and is a rare model that is hard to come by.
