The first generation Explorer II "Ref.1655" manufactured from around 1971 to 1983.
This is a very popular model with a retro atmosphere unique to vintage models.

This individual was manufactured around 1979.
The dial is the period-correct "MK4 dial".
The lettering is very similar to the MK5 dial, but
the "O" in "OYSTER" is oval, which is a distinctive feature!
The MK4 dial is surprisingly hard to find, making it a
highly rare dial.

Although the MK4 dial generally has few examples with good condition, this particular piece has an exceptionally well-preserved dial, maintaining a clean state even under loupe magnification.

The luminous material on the indexes also shows no signs of loss, maintaining excellent condition!
From the MK4 dial, the notation changed to T SWISS<25 T.

The luminous material is all tritium.
The condition of the luminous material on the hands is also good.

The bezel is MK3, which fits the MK4 dial.
It is a rare bezel with a very short production period.
Compared to MK1 and MK2, the top of the "2" is gentler, which is a distinctive feature!

The case and bracelet have scratches consistent with their age, but there are no major scratches and the condition is good.

As you can see, the middle case is thick and solid, in good condition!

The lugs are thick and substantial.

The buckle clasp code is "VD".

The bracelet, which matches the period, has some stretch, but the condition is good!
It has a good face, doesn't it?
This is a wonderful model with an irresistible retro atmosphere!!
The recent market price seems to be slightly on the rise, but
now is still the chance while it is calm!!

Wrist shot!!
This is a wonderful model with an irresistible retro atmosphere!!
The combination of a rare MK4 dial and MK3 bezel is also very appealing!
