The all-brown third-generation GMT Master solid gold model "Ref. 16758" is a very stylish model produced from around 1980 to 1988.
The solid gold and combination models were fitted with barnacle index dials until the mid-1980s.
"Barnacles" A spire-shaped upright index found on GMT Masters and Submariners manufactured from the 1960s through to the 1980s.
It is commonly called the "barnacle dial" because it looks like a barnacle on a shell.
Overseas, it is also called "nipple dial."
This particular watch has an outstanding appearance with a dial that has turned a dark brown due to fading, and barnacle indexes that have been fading in tritium, which match perfectly.
The hands are also beautifully burnished in the same color as the indexes.
*The calendar disc was replaced in later years.
The case is in good condition with no excessive polishing, and the lugs are thick and sturdy.
We do not polish the items, so there may be small scratches from use, but no major scratches.
The all-brown bezel, made exclusively for solid gold, shows some minor scratches from use.
The third generation GMT-Master was the only solid gold model with sapphire crystal.
There are some small scratches on the glass, but no major chips.
The Jubilee bracelet has some wrinkles appropriate for its age, but you probably won't even notice it when you wear it.
