The third generation GMT-Master solid gold model "Ref. 16758" in all brown color
This is a very cool model produced from around 1980 to around 1988.
The solid gold model and the combination model are
Until the mid-1980s, the dial was set with barnacle indexes.
"Barnacles"
GMT Master and Submariner models manufactured from the 1960s to the 1980s
Presence of spire-shaped upright indexes.
It is
commonly called the "barnacle dial" because it looks like a barnacle on a shell.
Overseas, it is also called
"nipple dial."
This particular model has a dark brown dial with a burnt finish.
The tritium has a burnt barnacle index.
It's a perfectly matched piece with a great atmosphere.
The hands are also beautifully burnished in the same color as the indexes.
*The calendar disc was replaced in later years.
The case condition is not excessively polished.
The lug feet are thick and sturdy.
