It was produced from around 1980 to around 1988.
Second generation Submariner Date/Ref. 16800.
While inheriting the basic design from the first Submariner Date/Ref. 1680,
The windshield has been changed from plastic to sapphire glass.
It also has a unidirectional rotating bezel and a quick-change date function.
This model is now even more practical.
The model that has arrived this time is the later model with edges.
The Ref. 16800 is divided into early and late models, with either a "borderless" version having no border on the index or a "bordered" version having a metal border.
The transition to the later-style bordered dial began around 1984.
This particular watch has a pumpkin dial with intense tritium burn!!
It's nicely grilled.
The dial shows signs of aging, especially around the indexes.
Do you consider this dial a dirty dial?
Or do you think it's an interesting and tasteful deterioration dial?

This is a completely natural aging process, so I think it's fine!
It's a dial with a nice flavor that goes well with the roasted pumpkin.
Being able to enjoy this type of aging is one of the charms of vintage and semi-vintage models!
Well!! The pumpkin dial isn't the only thing that's attractive about this watch!!
The condition is outstanding and it is a high quality specimen.
This is one point I would like to recommend.
The middle case is in the condition you see here!
It's a crispy piece that reminds me of a non-polished one!!
The edge lines and hairlines of the rug feet are perfect!!
A wonderful specimen that has retained its original form!
There are some small scratches, but overall it is in good condition.
The grooveless buckle has clasp code "J5" and is date-matching!
This bracelet is in excellent condition with no signs of creases whatsoever.
The best part is the reflector sticker on the back cover!!
It is rare to find a 16800 with the reflector seal still intact like this.
Accessories include a warranty card, serial tag, and booklet.
The fact that it comes with a warranty and serial tag is highly appreciated!
