Kaneko from Commit Ginza will introduce some recommended watches!
Today we have a rare item! A vintage 1950s Explorer!

Rolex Explorer Mirror Dial
Ref.6610 Serial.16 (manufactured around 1956)
Cal.1030 Back cover 56.2
Accessories: Box
SOLD OUT!!

The second generation Explorer "Ref. 6610" that appeared around 1955. Compared to the third generation Ref. 1016 (especially the later model) , this 1950s Explorer has a clearly different feel as a vintage model!
The basic design is the same as the first model, "Ref. 6350", but the movement has been updated from the previous caliber "Cal. A296", which could only wind the mainspring in one direction when the rotor rotated, to the bidirectional winding caliber Cal. 1030.
The back cover has also been changed from a thick one to a flat type.

A distinctive feature of mirror dials from the 1950s is that many of them have aged to a matte finish overall, due in part to the influence of radium luminescence.

The gold hands also look great and are very cool!!
There are traces of corrections to the luminous hands, but the atmosphere is not affected.

Above all, the big dot second hand is a big plus!!

It looks great!! The aged dial still has a nice shine to it!!

The condition is good with some scratches from use appropriate for its age, but no major scratches and in good condition.

Unfortunately, it does not come with a flash fit or bracelet, but it does come with a stylish NATO strap.

Comes with an American box!

Wrist shot!! Enjoy the exquisite aging that is unique to the 50's!
The real thing is even cooler than in the photo!!

Although this is a model for connoisseurs, it is a highly recommended vintage item with a strong presence!!
The overhaul has also been completed at our affiliated workshop!
