On August 1, 2024, a new model was announced from the popular Moon Swatch by Omega and Swatch! Three new Moon Swatch models were released in July 2024, and the momentum is accelerating. This time, the model features a blue moon.

Features

①Design featuring the blue moon

"Blue moon" does not refer to the phenomenon where the moon turns blue, but rather to the appearance of two full moons in one month, which occurs once every two and a half years, making it a somewhat rare full moon. In English, there is a phrase " Once in a blue moon, " which means something that rarely happens, and the name is derived from this. This model uses the name by employing blue for the case and dial.

The back of the watch also features details worthy of the name "Moon Swatch," such as a blue moon depicted on the battery cover.

The most unique feature is the release date and time. It will only be available from August 1st to 20th , during the blue hour from 5pm onwards. Only one per person per day will be available, and only at selected sales points, making it a model worthy of the rare "Blue Moon."

This model features a blue moon, with an oversized moon phase depicted against a dark blue disc at the 2 o'clock position.

 

The moon phase mechanism was also seen in the Snoopy collaboration model, but this time there are two moons in various shades of blue. When exposed to ultraviolet light, the words " SUPER BLUE MOON " painted in UV ink and the two moons appear.

3. The first Moon Swatch with a pulsometer scale

Since its launch in 2022 , Moonswatch has produced a variety of models, but this is the first time it has adopted a pulse meter scale. The pulse meter scale is a function that can measure heart rate and was originally developed for doctors and nurses.

By stopping the chronograph second hand when you have counted 30 beats, you can see your heart rate for one minute on the pulse meter scale on the bezel. In addition to the functionality of the chronograph and moon phase, the addition of a new function, the pulse meter, shows that the MoonSwatch has further evolved.

4. Differences from the popular "Neptune model"

In addition to this model, there is another model that uses blue, the Moon Swatch " Mission to Neptune," which features Neptune. However, although the color of the case is similar, it is still a completely different product.

The Neptune model had a dark blue dial with white hands and a chronograph subdial at the 2 o'clock position, but the new Blue Moon model has a silver dial with blue hands and a moon phase subdial at the 2 o'clock position, which is quite different.

Both are attractive models, so it's hard to choose.
