"Fight Club " (1999), an anarchic and violent suspense movie in which director David Fincher of " Seven " (1995) teams up again with Brad Pitt . Edward Norton plays an elite businessman who receives training in fist fighting from Brad Pitt's violent Tyler Durden. Although there is no scene in which the watch he wears is clearly visible in the movie, movie and watch fans say it is a Hamilton Jazzmaster (Ref. unknown/reference image) .

The film was released in 1999, during a transitional period when the trend in wristwatches was beginning to shift from quartz to mechanical. As the character is a salaryman who is sensitive to trends and likes small luxuries, and buys his furniture from IKEA , it would make sense for him to wear a reasonably priced mechanical watch that is ahead of the trend. Of course, there is a chance that it could be quartz.

summary

What did you think.

Even in his private life, there are hardly any photos of Edward Norton wearing a luxury watch such as a Rolex or Patek Philippe , and in his movies he only wears ordinary watches. This is not a very interesting column for a luxury watch specialty store (lol). Sorry about that.

Now, speaking of Edward Norton 's latest work, it is " Asteroid City " (2023) directed by Wes Anderson, which has been featured in this column several times. In the movie, he plays a screenwriter called "the legendary playwright", but I haven't looked into it in detail to avoid spoilers, so please forgive me.

In Wes Anderson's films, attractive watches also appear, such as the director's close friend Owen Wilson wearing a Rolex watch. I'm planning to watch the film at the cinema soon, so I'll let you know if I see any interesting watches on display.
