Good evening everyone.

Today's Patek Philippe article will introduce the Minute Repeater Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar Ref. 5207G-001 , a superb model with three major complicated mechanisms. We have only handled a few superb models up to this point in the past, and just like the Alarm Travel Time last time, we are excited about this one again. Please enjoy until the end.

"Ref.5207G-001"
"Minute Repeater Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar"
18KWG

Released as a new model for 2018, this watch features an 18KWG (white gold) case with hand-engraved decoration, as well as gold applied indexes and a blue sunburst dial, further enhancing its beauty.

According to the official website, this is the only watch in Patek Philippe's current collection equipped with a minute repeater, tourbillon, and instantaneous date-advancing perpetual calendar with an aperture display.

By the way, when it comes to watches of this class, the price is written as "upon request" and it is said that the price changes in units of one yen depending on the exchange rate at the time. It goes without saying that you can't buy it if you don't have the money, but it seems that Patek Philippe also has a screening process to see if someone is worthy of owning it, and just hearing about it makes me feel humbled. (laughs)

Although it is a commonly seen design nowadays, the "three unique calendar windows arranged in an arc at the top of the dial" are interpreted as the complete opposite of Patek Philippe's previous designs that emphasized classics and tradition. This began with the "tonneau shape" (commonly known as the "Calendario") "Ref. 5135" released in 2004.

The "Ref. 5207G-001" introduced here has the same three-window calendar display, but it is equipped with a perpetual calendar mechanism, so there is a leap year display window between 4 and 5 o'clock on the dial, and a day/night display window between 7 and 8 o'clock. At midnight, the day, date, month, and leap year are instantly changed.

In fact, the aforementioned "Ref. 5135" and "Ref. 5960" equipped with annual calendars have a unique way of changing the date, shifting to the right for a moment after midnight before returning to the center. On the other hand, the "Ref. 5207G-001" introduced here does not have such stress, and although it may sound exaggerated, the calendar changes completely smoothly, with a "click" sound, and the sight is truly impressive.

When viewed from the front, it looks similar to the Annual Calendar "Ref. 5205", but the case size is 1mm larger (Ref. 5207 = 41mm) and the finish on the case sides is different.

The hand-engraved finish is a beautiful touch worthy of this special model.

The repeater slide lever located at 9 o'clock on the side of the case is also decorated, and is finished with great care, befitting a model with three major complicated mechanisms. The view from the side of the case is simply beautiful. And yet, the thickness of the case is kept to just 13.81mm, which is a testament to Patek Philippe.

Next is the movement. It is simply beautiful. The balance is a tourbillon that rotates once every 60 seconds. This cancels out the difference in position and boasts high accuracy. And the two hammers on the right of the photo strike the gongs that surround the outer circumference of the movement, and the minute repeater tells the time with a sound.

Review of the Minute Repeater

▶Hour (every hour) = Low tone... Rings up to 12 times according to the hour.
▶Quarter (15 minute increments) = 1 set of high and low tones...rings up to 3 times up to 45 minutes.
▶ Minute (1 minute increments) = high tone...rings up to 14 times.

Example: 12:59
❶It rings 12 times at a low tone.
❷Then, a set of high and low sounds will ring three times (45 minutes)
❸ Finally, 14 high notes are played to make 59 minutes (45 + 14 minutes).

It may seem complicated when you read it in text, but I think you'll understand it quickly when you listen to the audio.

All accessories are included. The box is surprisingly large and has a special design. It also comes with an additional closed back and a setting pin for adjusting the calendar, and is in very good condition.

The warranty date is 2020. Unfortunately, the current domestic regular selling price is not known because it is written "upon request," but we can imagine that it is close to or near 100 million yen.

The selling price at our store is 84,150,000 yen ( tax included) .

There are very few watches being sold on the secondary market, both domestically and internationally, and it is said that the official domestic sales price of Patek Philippe will be revised from February, so this is not a model that can be easily said to be worth buying, but it is one that we would recommend to anyone who is considering purchasing one.
