hello everyone.

Before we knew it, two-thirds of September had passed, and today marked the end of the three-day weekend. Our store has been open every day, but there are still many customers who we have not been able to meet in person, which is very unfortunate. However, nothing will change if we remain silent, so we hope to provide you with some good information today as well.

I would like to introduce the Golden Ellipse Ref. 5738P-001 Platinum dress watch, which is rarely seen on the market and is hard to find. Please enjoy until the end.

"Ref.5738P-001" "Golden Ellipse" Platinum

"Golden Ellipse". The image I had of previous "Golden Ellipse" models was that they were not too big or thick and were "extremely simple and sophisticated watches".

However, when I saw the 18KR (rose gold) x black dial "Ref. 5738R-001" that arrived at the beginning of this year, my previous image of the watch was blown away in an instant, and I thought it was simply insanely cool! I think I mentioned this in my previous Patek Philippe theory.

Not only is the combination of 18KRG (rose gold) and a black dial very cool, but the case size of 34.5mm x 39.5mm also matches up better with modern watch trends.

The Platinum case "Ref. 5738P-001" that we are introducing this time also comes in the same size.

It may not be well known, but the Golden Ellipse was born in 1968. It is a model with a long history, having been around for over 50 years. The literal translation of "Golden ellipse" is "golden ellipse". You may be wondering what that means, but this "golden ellipse" refers to the "golden section" (1:1.6181), which is said to have been discovered by a Greek mathematician, and the case design of the Golden Ellipse is based on this.

The "Ref. 5738P-001" we are introducing this time was released in 2008 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the birth of the Golden Ellipse, and is still on sale as the current model. Platinum specification, large size 34.5mm x 39.5mm. For those who are familiar with the previous Golden Ellipse models, this was a surprise. Although it has been about 13 years since its release, this is the first time that it has actually been sold at Commit, and I think that it is a model that is very rarely distributed on the market.

In 2018, which marks the 50th anniversary of the birth of the Golden Ellipse, Commit added the following models to its lineup: the Ref. 5738R-001, with an 18KRG (rose gold) case and black dial, which has already been sold at Commit, and the Ref. 5738/50P-001, a limited edition model with a platinum case and hand engraving and enamel.

This model has a commemorative engraving of "ELLIPSE D'OR 1968-2018" on the case back, and a cabochon-cut black onyx is set on the crown. The 18KWG (white gold) dial with genuine black enamel is engraved with a hand-engraved scroll pattern. I previously handled a similar model from Calatrava, and I would love to handle this one as well.

That was a long introduction, but let's get back to the "Ref. 5738P-001".

The beautiful blue sunburst dial features white gold applied indexes, which are also used on the dial plate itself.

As mentioned earlier, the aspect ratio of the case uses the "golden section" (1:1.6181), which is said to have been discovered by a Greek mathematician, the design is an "oval" that combines a circle and a rectangle, and the size is 34.5 mm x 39.5 mm.While it has evolved to suit modern times, it has maintained the same simple beauty that has remained unchanged since its creation, which is typical of Patek Philippe.

The case is just 5.9mm thick and houses Patek Philippe's ultra-thin automatic movement, Cal. 240.

The distinctive Platinum case is, of course, set with diamonds.

The navy blue alligator strap and the platinum pin buckle for the Golden Ellipse create an elegant look. I think that this kind of attention to detail is what sets Patek Philippe apart from other brands.

The warranty date is July 2018. It is a relatively old watch, and the alligator strap shows some signs of wear, but the case is unpolished and has no noticeable scratches, so I recommend it. The box, booklets, and other accessories are also in good condition.

The selling price is 4,785,000 yen (tax included).

The official domestic retail price is 6,413,000 yen (tax included). This model is rarely seen on the market, so we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a model that stands out from the crowd.

summary

What did you think.

Recently, I am very happy that more and more customers have told me, "I'm watching Patek Philippe Theory!" It is a great motivation for me, and although people say that I look a little scary, I hope you will continue to talk to me without worrying about it. (laughs)

There are still many Patek Philippe models that we would like to carry, and we will continue to work hard every day to bring them to you.

see you!
