hello everyone.

The hot weather is still continuing, so are you taking good care of your health? Every day, the news is reporting new cases of coronavirus infection, and looking at the numbers, it seems like it will be a while before the pandemic ends.

This time, I would like to introduce some rare limited edition models released to commemorate the millennium (2000). Many of the models released for the millennium are ones I personally like very much, and the World Time "Ref. 5110," which first shocked me, was also released that year.

The model I'd like to introduce today is the 10-day "Ref. 5100G-001," which is currently fetching a reasonable price compared to before, and I wonder if there will come a time when it will be reevaluated.

Please enjoy until the end.

"Ref.5100G-001" Millennium Collection 10 DAYS 18KWG

A limited edition 10-day event was released to celebrate the millennium (2000).

Its unique case design is said to have been inspired by the "Ref. 2554" released in the 1950s, and some people call it the "Manta Ray" . When you look at the "Ref. 2554" after seeing the case design of the 10-day "Ref. 5100", you'll think, "I see!" and be impressed by how well it has been adapted to a modern style.

This is a very personal opinion, but the case exudes sophistication and elegance, and I think it has a very cool design that doesn't feel dated at all even today. This is what you can only say: "As expected from Patek Philippe."

When it was first announced, it was equipped with the newly developed 10-day winding square movement "Cal.28-20/220" and became a hot topic. Until then, the power reserve of a hand-wound watch was mainly just under 48 hours (about 2 days), but there was no watch with a long power reserve, let alone a power reserve of 10 days, so it can be said that Patek Philippe achieved this feat for the first time.

The "Cal. 28-20/220", which can be viewed through the skeleton back, is very beautiful to look at, and although it may sound exaggerated, you feel as if you are drawn in as you look at it.

As you can see in the photo, four different case materials were released, with a total of 3,000 units released.

 18KYG (yellow gold) x white dial {1500 pieces}
 18KRG (rose gold) x grey dial {750 pieces}
 18KWG (white gold) x blue dial {450 pieces}
 Platinum x Black dial (300 pieces)

The Platinum case is the least produced, with only 300 pieces produced. It also has a black dial, making it a popular and highly collectible model.

The 18KWG (white gold) case that we are introducing this time also has a dial color of a calm, beautiful blue, and with only 450 units produced, it is the second lowest after the Platinum case, but is just as popular.

As for accessories, it comes with a warranty, certificate, 10-day booklet (condition good), commemorative medal, a millennium pass case marked 2000, and inner and outer boxes for the millennium also marked 2000.

What surprised me the most about this product was that it came with a pamphlet explaining the movement, complete with photos of the 10 Days. To be honest, this was the first time I'd ever seen anything like this. It's rare to find such a comprehensive set of accessories, and it's definitely something worthy of a collection.

The selling price is 5,280,000 yen (tax included).

There are currently very few units available for sale, both domestically and internationally, and with all these accessories included and such a reasonable price, we definitely recommend it.

summary

That's all, what do you think?

The 10 Days "Ref. 5100G-001" is one of the models I would like to wear myself. As someone who knows the market price when it was soaring, I wonder if it's possible for it to become popular again!?

Last time, I was planning to introduce the Platinum case in a Patek Philippe article, but it was decided to sell before then, so I'm relieved to be able to introduce it this time (laughs).
