hello everyone.
The Tokyo Olympics came to a close with the highest number of medals ever won. As a Japanese person, I'm very proud of the results and very happy about them, but now that it's over, I also feel a bit sad.
In my previous column, I introduced two Patek Philippe watches under the title " Recommended models that can be purchased for under 3.5 million yen ." I also posted them on YouTube, and one of the customers who watched the video purchased the Annual Calendar 18KWG "Ref. 5146G-001."
I am truly grateful, and because the purchase was made through Patek Philippe Theory, I am even more pleased. I will continue to do my best in my writing!!
So, this time we have received a recommended annual calendar that is in very good condition and is a new model year, so we would like to introduce it along with annual calendars made from different materials that we already have in stock at Commit.
"Ref.5205R-010" Annual Calendar 18KRG
"Ref.5205G-001" Annual Calendar 18KWG
The "Ref. 5205" was born in 2010 as a new model equipped with an annual calendar.
The changes by era are as follows:
[ 2010 ] Material: 18KWG (white gold) Dial: Rhodium x silver grey/matte black x slate grey [ Added in 2013 ] Material: 18KRG (rose gold) Dial: White opaline/lacquered black [ 2018 ] Material: 18KWG (white gold) Dial: Blue-black gradation (*Soleil dial) *The 2010 model will no longer be produced due to the new model in 2018.
Currently, Commit Ginza has two watches in stock: one in 18KWG (white gold) with a rhodium/silver gray dial, and one in 18KRG (rose gold) with a lacquered black dial.
The dial of the annual calendar "Ref. 5205" is characterized by a unique display in which the day, date, and month display windows are arranged in an arc at the top of the dial. By the way, although it may not be widely known, the first watch to adopt this unique dial design was the "Calendario Ref. 5135" with a "tonno-shaped" case released in 2004.
In addition, the openwork design on the side of the lugs is something never seen before in Patek Philippe . It gives a slightly modern impression.
The case is made of two pieces, but the inverted design seen on the edges of the bezel and back cover feels like a new venture not seen in the classical designs of Patek Philippe .
The movement seen through the skeleton back is the Cal.324 S QA LU 24H, which is based on Patek Philippe's Cal.324 and is equipped with an annual calendar mechanism. It boasts stable accuracy with a vibration frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. The 21K rotor engraved with the Calotrava cross is also beautiful.
Normally the buckles are pin buckles, but another great feature of these is that both buckles are folding buckles.
The 18KRG (rose gold) "Ref. 5205R-010" still comes with the original genuine alligator strap and pin buckle which shows almost no signs of use.
The warranty date is March 2020, so there is still warranty period remaining and you can use it with peace of mind.
The "Ref. 5205G-001" went on sale in January 2011, relatively soon after the new model was announced, and although there are some scratches and small marks considering its age, the case is sturdy and this is another watch that we would recommend.
Both watches are sold by authorized domestic stores, the accessories are in good condition, and they come with all the booklets and other items, so I think this is also a positive point.
As for the selling price,

Compared to before, the market price for Patek Philippe watches on the second-hand market seems to have gone up regardless of model, but the model we introduced this time has a reasonable image compared to the official retail price in Japan, so we think it represents good value for money.
When considering everyday wear, the annual calendar is an ideal feature, and we would encourage anyone who is interested to take this opportunity to purchase one.
summary
What did you think.
If we were to present them side by side, I think they would both be equally cool.
In any case, there's nothing better than for you to see the actual product and think it's great! It's difficult to visit our store these days, but it's best for us to talk to you as directly and in a fun way as possible. If you're interested, please feel free to contact us.
see you!
