hello everyone.

Typhoon No. 10 is expected to hit Okinawa and Kyushu with record strength, which is very worrying. Commit Ginza has many customers in Okinawa and Kyushu, so we can only pray that it will not become a serious problem.

Well, today I would like to talk a little about the many Patek Philippe models that we have handled thanks to our customers since I started Commit Ginza, focusing on the extremely rare models, rare items, and even expensive models.

It's still too early to look back on the past, but we hope you enjoy the models that we were fortunate enough to come across thanks to our customers.

Perpetual calendar chronograph "Ref.5270G-001"

When Commit Ginza was founded and we were thinking about entering the watch industry, we wondered what brand we could compete with and what would be a success. The first thing that came to mind was Patek Philippe .

At the time, there were still only a few watches available, but by chance, the perpetual calendar chronograph "Ref. 5270G-001" was on display in the store.

This is a grand complication model that is still in the current lineup, and is the successor to the previous model "Ref. 3970" which had been manufactured for a relatively long time.

Reference 3970

At the time, I was very worried about whether I could sell perpetual calendar chronographs as a store and by myself. I can say this now, but I had a lot of anxiety (laughs).

Thankfully, after the "Ref. 5270G-001" was successfully sold, the second and third generation blue dials were released. More recently, we have been selling the current PT (platinum) case with salmon dial, and the RG (rose gold) case with black dial with bracelet.

In that vague situation, I remember thinking, "Maybe the way to leave an impact as a store is to surpass domestic and international market prices?" and working on it.

World Time Moon Phase "Ref.5575G-001"

Among these, the first one that comes to mind is the World Time Moon Phase "Ref. 5575G-001," released in a worldwide limited edition of 1,300 pieces as a commemorative model for the 175th anniversary of Patek Philippe's founding.

It was popular then and it is still popular now, but I think you're seeing it more often at overseas watch auctions these days. Commit Ginza also sold three unused pieces in a relatively short period of time. The watch itself has become less common to see recently, but it's still a cool watch no matter when you look at it. I'd like to handle it again after a long time.

Perpetual Calendar Chronosplit "Ref.5004P-021"

Next. Since I started this column, I have written many times about my feelings about this model, but as I started to commit and started to feel my way around, the one I decided to bet on was definitely the Perpetual Calendar Chrono Split PT (platinum) case silver dial "Ref. 5004P-021".

I still remember it. At that time, the current US President Trump was inaugurated, and the exchange rate changed drastically afterwards. I purchased this watch from overseas, and I remember that I was able to avoid the price of the watch being drastically affected by the yen's depreciation because of the difference of about one day when I transferred the money.

Of course, I was determined to take a chance, so even though it was a relatively old model, I set the selling price at an overwhelmingly reasonable price both in Japan and overseas (lol).

For the "Ref. 5004," we have experience handling two PT (platinum) case x silver dial models, a PT (platinum) case x black dial with diamond indexes, a special model with a WG (white gold) case x salmon dial, and an RG (rose gold) case x silver dial.

Calatrava "Ref. 5088/100P-001"

Thinking back now, this model also had a big impact. The Ref. 5088/100P-001 is a very rare and elaborate watch with a black enamel dial and engraving on the sides of the case.

Commit handled both the current model that is still in the catalog and a model with a slightly different dial design. However, there is one drawback: it's really hard to tell the time. Well, I guess visibility doesn't really matter to people who buy models like this... (laughs)

Perpetual Calendar Chronosplit "Ref.5204P-010"

By chance, we ended up handling the "Ref. 5204P-010", the successor to the "Ref. 5004".

To be honest, as a believer in the "Ref. 5004", I was skeptical of this watch until I actually saw it. However, this is Patek Philippe after all. I was soon proven wrong in a good way. The opaline dial was very beautiful and luxurious, with an overwhelming presence. Handling this model was the deciding factor, and I ended up purchasing the current model, the "Ref. 5204/1R-001", with a RG (rose gold) case and black dial bracelet.

Like the "Ref. 5004," the "Ref. 5204" is a watch we would definitely like to carry.

Annual Calendar Chronograph "Ref.5961P-001"

The watch that I sold in an attempt to broaden my horizons, both for myself and for Commit, is the luxurious "Ref. 5961P-001," an annual calendar chronograph with a platinum (PT) case, a matte blue diamond dial, and the bezel and buckle are lavishly set with baguette-cut diamonds.

We also have a history of selling the "Ref. 5961R-010" model with a black dial and 18KRG (rose gold) case that is factory sealed (unopened plastic).

Reference 5961R-010

This is a model that we would like to continue to carry in the future.

World Time Cloisonné "Ref.5131G-001"

The last item we would like to introduce is the World Time Cloisonné series. The first one we were told about was the "Ref. 5131G-001," which was brand new when it was first released and had never been used and was stored away.

Reference 5131G-001

It's a beautiful watch with a WG (white gold) case and a blue-based "cloisonné" dial. I vividly remember that when it was first released, it was priced at twice the regular retail price. Nowadays, it's common for "Nautilus" and "Aquanaut" models to be priced higher than the regular retail price, but I don't think there is a model currently available that can command such a premium price.

At Commit, we are selling two watches in WG (white gold) cases with factory seal (unopened plastic), one in RG (rose gold) case with factory seal (unopened plastic) and one in mint condition used, and two models in PT (platinum) cases with PT (platinum) bracelets.

We do not currently have any watches for sale, so if you have one please contact us.

summary

Although there are some parts that are out of chronological order and were released at different times, I have talked about it to the best of my memory. What did you all think?

Patek Philippe is a truly profound brand, and it is one that I absolutely love. There are still many models that I have not seen, so if you have a Patek Philippe watch, please feel free to contact us or come to our store.

Also, I still haven't talked enough, so I think I'll continue this story next time (lol)

We are also looking forward to hearing other opinions such as "I would like to hear more about this!"
