89th Edition ~ Introducing the Rolex Sea-Dweller Triple Six 16660 Patina

The second generation Sea-Dweller, "Ref. 16660", appeared around 1980. This model is commonly known as the "Triple Six" because of the three "6s" in the model number.
The changes from the original Sea-Dweller "Ref. 1665" are:
○The windshield has been changed from plastic to sapphire crystal.
○By enlarging the helium gas escape valve, water resistance of 1,220m is achieved.
○The bezel has been changed to prevent reverse rotation.
○Quick date change is possible.
The model we are introducing this time is the later model with edges.
Like the Submariner Ref. 5513, Ref. 16800, and GMT-Master Ref. 16750, the Ref. 16660 is divided into early and late models with either a "rimless" version with no border on the index or a "rimmed" version with a metal border .
This particular piece was manufactured around 1983, so it is thought to be a relatively early example among those with edges.

The recommended feature of this model is the dial, which features a striking tritium color.
The hands and indexes are nicely and evenly tanned.
Beautiful patina dials like this are rare.
*There is also intense burning on the luminous points.

The second hand has a dot at the tip, which is a nice little feature.

The case is also in very good shape.
It is rare to find a watch with such a tanned dial that still has such a sturdy case.

The condition of the bracelet is also good.

It is in good condition with no noticeable stretch.

It comes with a vintage grooveless hard bracelet 93160, with a "G" clasp cord, which also matches the vintage.

Comes with box and warranty card.
This product was sold in the early 80s, and the fact that it comes with all the accessories is a big plus!

The outer box comes with a proof of originality, the "16660 ref seal" .

The rugged Rolex sports model "Sea-Dweller" has a dial that is so beautifully tanned that it really looks cool!
