SOLD OUT!!
The third generation Explorer "Ref. 1016" manufactured from around 1960 to around 1990
The Vintage Explorer has undergone various specification changes over its long production period.
The item arriving this time is the L number, which is the final item.
There are also E-series models, which were produced in extremely limited numbers, but the R and L-series models are popular years that are nearing the end of production.
The dial is a "5-type dial"
This is the final dial produced between 1986 and 1990.
A well-balanced and popular dial!
The luminous material on the “5-inch dial” doesn’t burn very easily.
There is not much luminous tanning on this particular item either.
The color of the hands and indexes is uniform.
The dial condition is very good.
If you look closely, you will notice a small chip in the luminous material at the 11 o'clock position, but this does not detract from the overall appearance.
Now!
This particular watch has an early MK1 dial, the L-number, and is characterized by the cute, thick luminous index numbers 3, 6, and 9, making it a rare dial known as a "fat font" or "fat luminous".
This is a comparison photo with R number 1016.
When you compare them like this, can you see the difference in thickness?
This fat font dial is often seen on the L8.
What's more, even though they use the same L-number fat font, there are slight differences in the typeface depending on the individual dial, making this an interesting dial.
The case and bracelet are in good overall condition.
The middle case is also relatively sturdy.
There is only slight wrinkling of the bracelet.
Accessories include a box and an international service warranty.
Wrist shot!!
It's a wonderful model no matter when you look at it!!
It's cool!!
