Hello!

KANEKO from Commit Ginza will be introducing a recommended watch!

Today's featured watch is the deep ivory dial of the second-generation Explorer II.

ROLEX Explorer II Ivory All Tritium

Accessories: Watch body only
Cal. 3085 78360/FF501 Clasp code J8
In-store selling price: 3,685,000 yen (tax included)

We are introducing the "Ref. 16550", the second-generation Explorer II, manufactured from around 1984 to 1988, a short-lived model produced for only a few years!

The "Ref. 16550" dial colors include black, white, and ivory, but the one we are introducing today is the ivory dial, which is considered the rarest.

Regarding the ivory color, this particular piece has a rich, carbonara-like hue.

Ivory dials vary from piece to piece, so the darker the color, the higher the price.

Here's a comparison with our store's Ref. 16570/white dial (right).

Can you tell how deep the color is on this particular piece when compared like this?

I think this color is quite deep.

Next is a comparison with our store's ivory tip-dot model (right).

Our 16550 also has a deep ivory, making it hard to choose, but the one being introduced appeared slightly deeper in color.

Furthermore, the chronometer notation is a dial called "center split," meaning that the spacing between the upper "SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER" and the lower "OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED" text is aligned vertically.

Although this dial also exists on black dials, the ivory x center split dial is a rare dial that many people are looking for.

The dial condition has minor scratches (minute hand rub) that are visible under a loupe, but overall, it is in relatively clean condition.

The luminous material is all tritium. The condition of the hand luminous material is excellent!!
The color matches the index luminous material as well!

The index luminous material, which has changed to almost the same color as the dial, is also in beautiful condition!
This color change on ivory dials is really cool!

The "16550" and "16570" have similar designs, but the "16550" is characterized by its large, angular bezel font.

Many people probably like this retro-looking bezel.

The condition shows overall scuffs and scratches from use, but the case and bracelet are solid.

To be honest, there are scratches, but the mid-case also has a good impression!!

The edge line of the lug is sharp!

Buckle clasp code is "J8"

The bracelet, which matches the age, has some slack but is in good condition.

Wrist shot!!
The ivory dial, exquisitely harmonized with the index that has changed to the same color, is a charming and wonderful piece!

Rare Explorer II "Ref. 16550" with a rich ivory dial.
This is a hard-to-find model with a rich ivory dial and center split!
Don't miss out on a piece with such a deep color!
If you are looking for a Ref. 16550/Ivory x Center Split with an excellent atmosphere, please consider it.
