Introducing the second-generation Explorer II, Ref.16550, manufactured for only a few years, from around 1984 to 1988!

The dial colors for the Ref.16550 are black, white, and ivory, and the one we are introducing today is the ivory dial, which is said to be the rarest among them.

Regarding the ivory color, this particular watch has a rich dial color reminiscent of carbonara.

Since ivory dials vary from piece to piece, the deeper the color, the higher the price.

Here's a comparison photo with our Ref.16570/white dial (right).

Can you see the richness of this particular piece when compared this way? I think this color is quite rich.

Next, here's a comparison photo with our ivory dial with pointed dots (right).

Our 16550 also has a deep ivory color, making it hard to choose between them, but the one introduced here appeared slightly deeper in color.

Furthermore, the chronometer text is a dial referred to as a "Center Split," meaning that the spacing between the words "SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER" on the upper line and "OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED" on the lower line is aligned both vertically and horizontally.

Although this dial also exists in black, the ivory x Center Split dial is a rare dial sought after by many.

The dial condition has minor scratches (on the hour hand) that are visible upon close inspection with a loupe, but overall, it is in relatively good condition.

The lume is all tritium. The condition of the hand lume is excellent! The color matches the index lume perfectly!

The index lume, which has changed to almost the same color as the dial, is also in beautiful condition! This color change in ivory dials is truly stylish!

The "16550" and "16570" have similar designs, but the "16550" is characterized by its large, blocky bezel. Many people probably prefer this retro-style bezel.

Although there are general scratches and scuffs from use, the case and bracelet are solid.

Honestly, there are scratches, but the mid-case also has a good impression!

The edge lines of the lug feet are sharp!

Buckle clasp code is "J8"

The bracelet, which matches the era, has some slight stretch but is in good condition.

Wrist shot!!
This is a wonderful piece with an attractive ivory dial that exquisitely matches the color-changed indexes!

Rare Explorer II "Ref.16550" with a rich ivory dial.
This is a hard-to-find model with a rich ivory dial and a center split!
Let's secure a piece like this with a deep color while we can!
To customers looking for an atmospheric Ref.16550/Ivory x Center Split, please consider it.
