Hello!
Kaneko from Commit Ginza will introduce a recommended watch!
Today's watch is a Day-Date with a wood dial.

ROLEX Day-Date Walnut Tritium
Ref. 18238 Serial. S3 (Manufactured around 1993)
Cal. 3155 8385/FF55B Clasp code R12
Accessories: Box, warranty card (USA)
In-store sales price: 7,678,000 yen (tax included)

The Day-Date is Rolex's highest-end model, available only in gold or platinum. This is the "Ref. 18238" model, which was the first to allow for day changes in addition to date display.
Compared to the thicker "kama-boko" case of the previous "Ref. 18038" model, this one has a more stylish case.

The piece we are introducing today is a rare Day-Date with a wood dial!
There are many variations of wood dials, but this model uses "walnut," one of the three most famous woods in the world, which has a unique texture and beautiful deep brown grain.

Each wood dial is made of natural material, so no two patterns are exactly alike, and each piece has its own unique expression.

The piece that has arrived this time has an attractive, calm color typical of walnut, and is a very beautiful dial with a well-balanced grain.

Up close, you can enjoy the lively patterns unique to natural materials even more.
Nevertheless, this dial, with its glossy, beautifully coated wood dial and gold letters, is incredibly cool.
Personally, my favorite features of wood dials are the long minute lines and the tasteful applied indices!

This is a two-shot with birch wood, which is characterized by its bright color and beautiful glossy wood grain.
It's interesting how the brightness and expression of even the same wood dial can change completely!
This birch is the cherished possession of Murayama, the Commit PR manager.
The birch has a very nice expression, so I really want you to see it in person!
If you ask at the store, they will be happy to show it to you.

Important point!
The dial condition is wonderfully clean and well-maintained!

The hands and luminous material are tritium. The luminous condition is also good!

Although there are minor scratches from use, this is an excellent individual piece that has maintained a wonderful condition!!

As you can see, the middle case is thick and sharp, and there is no excessive case thinning.

The bezel has nice, firm ridges!

Buckle clasp code is "R3"

The matching bracelet (full links) is also in top condition with no noticeable stretch!
It seems that many wood dial pieces have stretched bracelets, so this condition is rare.

The accessories include a box, warranty card, international service warranty (May 2023), repair statement, Day-Date booklet (94), and Oyster booklet (92).
The warranty is from the US and states that the original dial was champagne tapestry.
This means that the walnut dial was replaced at some point, but since wood dials can no longer be replaced by the manufacturer, this does not affect our evaluation.

Wrist shot!!
This is a masterpiece that appeals to a man's heart, with each piece being unique!!
All the staff at Commit admired its coolness!!

Rolex Day-Date Walnut "Ref. 18238/S3"
This is a rare Day-Date with a walnut dial that is hard to come by!
Wood dials in excellent overall condition have become less common than before, and their rarity increases year by year.
Therefore, when such a good piece with these conditions appears, it is an opportunity not to be missed!!
Day-Date collectors, please consider this piece.
