This time, we are introducing the rare Explorer Ref. 5500, which is said to have been sold in the UK for a certain period.
Redialed watches are common, and original models are hard to come by, so its rarity is increasing year by year.

This model features an Explorer dial set on an Air-King Ref. 5500, so its characteristic is a small size of 34mm.
Here's a comparison with a Ref. 1016 / mirror dial (left). The 2mm difference is quite significant when compared like this.

For reference, this is the 1016 mirror.
Hmm, it's cool.

This is the 5500 mirror.
It's subtle, but...
You can definitely feel the 2mm size difference.
This is recommended for those who find the 1016 a bit too large!

The dial is a mirror dial.
The valuation of mirror dials varies greatly depending on their condition, but this particular piece is a dazzling mirror dial with its luster well preserved.

Although there are minor scratches, it's no exaggeration to say that this mirror's luster is in top condition.
This is a dial where you really want to pay close attention to the glossiness of its surface!!

This is a mirror dial of the highest level of beauty!!
The jet-black mirror combined with the gilt lettering is incredibly cool.

While many pieces have lost their luminous material, the index lume on this one is maintained in remarkably clean condition!

Since it's equipped with a non-chrono movement, the dial features the word "PRECISION" at 6 o'clock, indicating its accuracy!

The lume is all tritium.
The hands have a subtle, exquisite aging that gives them character!!

The condition shows age-appropriate wear and scratches, but the case and bracelet are very solid!!

As you can see, the mid-case is thick and substantial.

This mid-case leaves a very good impression!!

The mirror dial and rivet bracelet are essential points!!
It is equipped with a 6635/extension type rivet!

The clasp is stamped with a 65.2 mark.

The bracelet, which matches the era, has some looseness, but it fits perfectly on the wrist!!

Sparkling!!
You'll involuntarily utter this word when you see this dial (lol).
It's a rare condition that you don't often come across.
When you encounter a piece that maintains this level of luster, it's your chance!!

Boy's Explorer "Ref. 5500"
A recommended vintage piece with a beautiful jet-black mirror dial that retains its top-condition luster.
If you're looking for a stylish and small mirror dial, please try it on!
It has an amazing presence and is incredibly cool!!
To all customers looking for a vintage Explorer,
Please consider this watch.
