SOLD OUT!!
The second generation Explorer "Ref. 6610" that appeared around 1955
The basic design is the same as the first model "Ref. 6350",
The movement has been updated from the previous caliber "Cal. A296", which could only wind the mainspring in one direction when the rotor rotated, to the Cal. 1030, which has a bidirectional winding mechanism.
The back cover has also been changed from a thick one to a flat type.
The original dial of the 6610 is a mirror dial,
This particular model has been fitted with a matte dial, which is quite a rare offering.
This is a comparison photo with the 1016/Frogfoot in stock at our store.
When compared like this, it is very similar to the matte dial of the 1016.
At first glance it looks like 1016.
If you look closely, you'll see that the 6610 has a longer minute line.
The 6 o'clock position is marked with T SWISS T.
The dial surface is in very good condition.
The tritium luminous material has been beautifully painted, giving it a nice atmosphere.
The hands have also been replaced in later years, and there are natural cracks in the luminous material.
The color of the index matches perfectly with the tritium luminous material.
The condition is age-appropriate with some scratches,
There are no major scratches and the overall condition is good.
The middle case has been polished according to its age,
There is no excessive finishing.
The bracelet is a later model,
The rivet bracelet is securely equipped.
I can't get enough of this belly buckle.
The bracelet has natural wear appropriate for its age.
Wrist shot!!
The long minute line on this 6610/matte dial is very cool!
Vintage Explorer 2nd Generation "Ref.6610"
At first glance it looks like a 1016, but if you look closely you'll see that it has a matte dial unique to the 6610.
This is a recommended item that you will grow to love! The tritium burn is also very nice, so I recommend it.
