No. 164 ~ Old and new comparison series! ~ Current Explorer I Ref.214270 ~

Kaneko from Commit Ginza will introduce some recommended watches!
Today we'll be comparing the old and new versions of the current Explorer I.

Explorer I "Ref. 214270" released in 2010. The current dial is on the left and the old blacked- out dial is on the right.
We have been transitioning to the current dial since around 2016.
We've taken some photos comparing the changes, so if you're interested, please take a look!
*The top is the current dial and the bottom is the old dial.
The biggest change is that indexes 3, 6, and 9 are now luminous.

The current dial has thicker hour and minute hands.
If you look closely, you'll notice that the font of the logo is also different.

*On the old Blackout model, the minute hand does not reach the minute markings on the outer edge of the dial.
*No difference was observed in the length of the hour hand.

*The top is the current dial and the bottom is the old dial. If you look closely, you'll notice that the second hand on the current dial is longer.
*The old blackout model does not meet the SWISS MADE label.

The current dial has the edge in terms of visibility!
What did you think?
Aside from the major change of adding luminous material to the 3, 6, and 9 indexes, there are other small differences in specifications that make it interesting.
To be honest, both are equally popular, so choose the face you like best!
