El Primero-equipped Daytona "Ref. 16520"
16520 is 200 Taki, 225 Taki, Porcelain, Step/Floating,
This is a popular model with a variety of unique features that will appeal to enthusiasts, including 4 lines, inverted 6 dials, Patrizio, Brown Eye, A number, and P number.
The model we are introducing this time is the earliest Ref. 16520, which has some attractive features.
First, let's look at some of the unique features of the early model!
○MK2 bezel "225 Taki" bezel
Pay attention to the mark between "200" and "300".
After the MK3 bezel, the scale changes to "240" only,
The MK2 bezel has two markings, "225" and "250".
This is a very rare early bezel commonly known as "225 Taki".
○MK2 dial “4 lines”
The 5-line English notation has been replaced with "OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED"
The original dial had four lines of text.
Like the MK1 dial, this is a rare dial that is very rarely seen.
Personally, I love the cool letter "E" in the ROLEX logo!
○ "Reverse 6" dial
This is an early dial produced up to the S series, and is called the "reverse 6" or "inverted 6" because the number "6" on the 12-hour counter at the 6 o'clock position is inverted to look like a "9".
Due to the characteristics up to the S series,
MK1 dial/floating and MK2 dial/4 line are of course “inverted 6”.
○Single buckle
The single buckle is also an essential feature of this early model.
The clasp code on this particular unit is "M6" and matches the age!
I get the impression that a surprising number of them are replaced in later years.
○Kamaboko case
The kamaboko case is also a feature of the early models!
Can you see that the early models have a thick case?
The kamaboko case gives off a strong, rugged impression which is very appealing.
The condition is good, although there are some scratches from use.
It is in good overall condition and makes a very good impression.
There are some scratches on the side of the case, but it does not detract from the look.
The middle case is not overly finished and is sturdy.
The bracelet has a very slight bend, but is in very good condition.
This is a rare original bracelet.
The luminous material is all tritium.
The dial condition is very good and is still in good condition.
The face that is unique to this early specimen is very attractive!
Overall it's a beautiful specimen that leaves a good impression!
Accessories include box, warranty card, international service warranty card (April 2022),
Comes with green tag (no serial number), chronometer tag, bezel cover, and extra links!
Wrist shot!!
The combination of the instantly recognizable 4-line dial and the subtle 225mm bezel
This is an extremely cool item!
The early model of the MK2 bezel x MK2 dial "Ref.16520"
It's really tempting to have an early model with such wonderful rare features.
While the availability of normal single tritium units is declining, it is difficult to find the first units even if you search for them! It comes with all the accessories and is in good condition, so I highly recommend it!
