Well then!! The first one of the new year is the early model of the Daytona equipped with El Primero!
Rolex Daytona Black El Primero Reverse 6 All Tritium
Ref.16520 Serial.N (manufactured around 1991)
Accessories: Box, warranty card (stamped November 1992 in Hong Kong), international service warranty card (stamped January 2014, stamped October 2004)
SOLD OUT!!
The model we are introducing this time is the Daytona "Ref. 16520" equipped with El Primero, produced from R to P numbers, and has a tritium dial that has the characteristics of the early models!
Commonly known as the "reverse 6 dial", the number "6" on the 12-hour counter at the 6 o'clock position is inverted to look like a "9", and so this is one of the early dials produced up to the S series, and is called the "reverse 6" or "inverted 6" because it is written inverted to look like a "9".
It is also called "INVERTED 6" overseas.
This model subtly captures the key points...
It's actually pretty cool (lol) It's one of my favorite models too!
We happened to have a W-numbered "normal 6" dial in our store, so we took some photos and compared them.
On the left is the "reverse 6" and on the right is a slightly brown W number.
*The Daytona number W is a display item.
*The top is N number "reverse 6", and the bottom is W number "normal 6" .
Can you see how the number "6" is reversed to look like a "9" ?
This is a point that you would not notice unless you looked closely, but it seems that the reputation of the "inverted 6" dial has increased significantly in recent years .
*The top is N number "reverse 6", and the bottom is W number "normal 6" .
Incidentally, the inverted 6 isn't the only feature of the early dials.
The “Reverse 6” we are introducing this time has a 4-type dial, but compared to the W-type 5-type dial, the typeface of the in-dial is completely different!
This kind of specification change is also an interesting point.
The buckle is a single buckle .
This particular watch has an "MA" clasp code, so it can be replaced with a single buckle, but a single buckle is an essential feature of the "reverse 6" .
Personally, I think that the matte stainless steel single bracelet looks more retro and cool with the inverted 6 dial!!
The "single tritium" Daytona is just as appealing as the other sports models.
The product we are introducing this time comes with a wide range of accessories!
It would be great to have the box (with 16520 Ref. seal), warranty, and Daytona booklet, but other accessories are also included.
Although it is not shown in the photo, a calendar from that time is also included.
The Daytona booklet is also the original from that time!!
And finally, a wrist shot!! So cool!!
El Primero-equipped Daytona Ref. 16520 "Reverse 6 Dial" This is an early model of the tasteful 16 Daytona.
This particular watch has some small scratches and some ink loss on the bezel (type 4), but the all-tritium "inverted 6" dial gives it an outstanding look!
It also comes with a wide range of accessories, so I highly recommend it!
If you are looking for the Daytona "Ref. 16520", please consider this one.
