Hello everyone!

This is Yagi from Commit TV.

This time, I would like to introduce some of the more rare specifications and highly rated features of Rolex's six-digit models.

This is especially recommended for those who don't know much about Rolex or those who are thinking about purchasing one.

Rare Specification

①Sea-Dweller Ref.126600 "No Crown MK1 Dial"

★Basic information about the model

This model was announced at Baselworld in 2017 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the series.

The red "Sea-Dweller" marking at 6 o'clock on the dial is reminiscent of the early model of the first Sea-Dweller. The case size is 43mm, and the first Cyclops lens is used in the Sea-Dweller. Equipped with the new movement "Cal.3235", it is a completely new model that incorporates the latest technology.

★Rare points

This is a rare early model "No Crown MK1 Dial" .

Models equipped with the new caliber have a crown mark between SWISS and MADE, but the model we are introducing here, called the MK1 dial, does not have the crown mark .

*No crown notation

This item is said to have been released by the fall of 2018, and is highly rated due to the limited availability on the market.

*Crown notation included

②GMT Master II Ref.126710BLRO "MK1 Bezel"

★Basic information about the model

The GMT Master II "Ref. 126710BLRO" was released in 2018 and features the traditional two-tone red/blue bezel that represents the GMT Master.
This model has been changed from the previous Oyster bracelet to a Jubilee bracelet, giving it a more elegant look. The color red, which is considered difficult to achieve with regular ceramic materials, has been successfully achieved using a new proprietary technology, bringing back the popular color from the first model, commonly known as "Pepsi."

★Rare points

This is the "MK1 Bezel" from the early lot with a "light" bezel color. It was confirmed in the early units that were released after the new model was announced in 2018.

Below are the comparison images.

The one on the left is the "MK1 bezel" and the one on the right is the "regular bezel".
To be honest, it looks quite different. Why not try looking for the increasingly popular "MK1 Bezel"?

③ Explorer Ref.214270 "Blackout Mirror Buckle"

★Basic information about the model

The Explorer I, with a case diameter of 39 mm, was produced from around 2011 to April 2021. It was discontinued in April 2021, but since new models have returned to a 36 mm case diameter, we can expect the 39 mm size to become more rare.
This model is available from 2011 to 2016 and is equipped with what is known as a "blackout" dial, which has no luminous coating on the 3, 6, or 9 dials and exposes the metal.

★Rare points

This is a "Blackout" with a mirror finish on the inside of the buckle, available from the latter half of 2015 until the minor change in 2016. It was produced just as the buckles were being replaced with new specifications, so there aren't many of them available, and they are highly rated.

④ Daytona Ref.116520 "Mirror buckle" *White tag included

★Basic information about the model

The fifth-generation Daytona "Ref.116520" was produced from 2000 to 2016 and was equipped with Rolex's long-cherished fully in-house chronograph movement "Cal.4130". While inheriting the design of the previous model "Ref.16520", the details have been brushed up, such as changing the layout of the sub-dials and enlarging the indexes due to the change in the movement.

★Rare points

This watch also has a rare feature, the mirror-finished buckle , which was also introduced on the aforementioned Explorer I "Ref. 214270". This rare specification, which was only available for a certain period from late 2015 until it was discontinued in 2016, has been highly praised and has caused its price to soar. If it has the "white tag" that can be found on parallel products overseas, it is even more highly rated. The "white tag" is an official tag managed by Rolex dealers, and is generally collected at the time of purchase at authorized Japanese stores, but parallel products from overseas may still have it attached, making it an irresistible accessory for enthusiasts.

5. Daytona Ref. 116500LN "Floating Dial"

★Basic information about the model

The current Daytona "Ref. 116500LN" was newly announced in 2016. It is a very popular model that is rarely seen in official stores. The white dial is especially popular, and the current (4/23) market price is about 2.5 times the list price of 1,387.100 yen, at over 3,500,000 yen, which is an astounding trend. In terms of design, the bezel has been changed from stainless steel to Cerachrom, which has excellent corrosion and scratch resistance. The tight black and highly refined design is further spurring its popularity.

★Rare points

This is a "floating dial" with a red DAYTONA logo floating on it. It is a rare specification that is not yet well known, but it will be a rare point to look forward to in the future.

summary

What did you think.

Even just the six-figure models have many rare specifications. I can't even imagine what it would be like to have one of these become vintage or semi-vintage. (laughs)

Well, that's the depth and fun of watches!!

I hope that this column will encourage more people to become interested in luxury watches.

see you!
