2025 has been another impressive year for the luxury watch industry.

The over-hyped mood had been in a lull for the past few years, but it began to pick up again in the latter half of 2025, causing prices to soar for some models. Demand has tended to be concentrated on classic models and ever-popular models, and some may feel that a polarization is progressing. Meanwhile, there are popular models that gained a lot of popularity and support, but were sadly discontinued in 2025.

① [Patek Philippe] "Nautilus" "Ref. 5712/1A-001"

This masterpiece stainless steel model, affectionately nicknamed "Petit Computer" for nearly 19 years since its debut in 2006 to mark the 30th anniversary of the Nautilus, has finally disappeared from the lineup. Thanks to its ultra-thin movement with a micro-rotor, it boasts a remarkable thickness of just 8.52mm despite its multifunctionality. Its asymmetrical dial layout added a unique character to Gérald Genta's original design, making it one of the most sought-after stainless steel models. Following the announcement of its discontinuation, premium prices on the secondary market have accelerated.

② [Patek Philippe] "Aquanaut" "Ref. 5167/1A-001"

Of the "Ref. 5167" series, which is synonymous with the Aquanaut, the "5167/1A" with a stainless steel bracelet has been discontinued. While the tropical band (rubber) is a standard feature of the Aquanaut, this bracelet model emphasized the practicality and luxury of a "luxury sports" model. Its discontinuation (end of production) amid constant rumors of a successor model marked a strong generational change in Patek Philippe's sports models.

3. [Rolex][Rolex] Yacht-Master "Ref. 226659 Falcon's Eye"

The natural stone "Falcon's Eye" dial, which was previously available on the white gold Yacht-Master 42, has disappeared from the catalog. This dial, with its distinctive bluish stripes, was highly sought after due to its rarity, with each piece having a different look, but it has been discontinued just three years after its introduction. The current Yacht-Master 42 is limited to black dials and titanium models, and this "Falcon's Eye" dial, which embodies the mysterious charm of natural stone, has been in limited circulation until now, so it will likely become even rarer. We have not yet received this model, so it is one we look forward to seeing how it develops in the future.
