A perpetual calendar is one of the world's three most complicated mechanical mechanisms. It is a mechanism that automatically adjusts the calendar to account for not only the difference in the number of days in a month (30 or 31 days) but also the leap year (February 29th) that occurs once every four years.
This mechanism, which can be said to be the pinnacle of micromechanism, as in theory the date will not need to be adjusted until 2100, combines particularly high practicality and status among the many complication watches.
This time, we will introduce five exquisite perpetual calendar models that embody the philosophy of each brand. Please enjoy until the end.

① [Patek Philippe] "Perpetual Calendar Retrograde" "Ref. 5160/500G-001"

Basic specifications : Year of manufacture: circa 2016 Case: 38.0mm
Material: 18KWG
Water resistance: 30m Movement: Automatic Cal.324 S QR
Among Patek Philippe's Grand Complications, this is one that stands out for its artistic merit. Its greatest feature is the hand-engraving that covers the entire surface of the "Officer's Case," modeled after an officer's watch. The center of the dial, bezel, case sides, lugs, and even the hunter case back are all meticulously engraved by skilled artisans, making this a model of exceptional value as a work of art.
In terms of functionality, the retrograde date display moves in a fan pattern and instantly returns to the 1st at the end of the month, allowing you to enjoy the movement of the hands themselves. This is a rare model with very little circulation on the market, making it the ultimate collector's watch.

② [A. Lange & Söhne] Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon "Ref. 740.056FE"

Basic specifications : Year of manufacture: circa 2016 Case: 41.5mm
Material: 18KWG
Water resistance: 30m Movement: Manual winding Cal.L952.2
This is an all-inclusive, extraordinary model that combines the Datograph, the pride of A. Lange & Söhne, the pinnacle of German watchmaking, with a perpetual calendar and tourbillon.
Of particular note is the solid pink gold salmon dial paired with a white gold case. While salmon has become extremely popular in the luxury watch market in recent years, A. Lange & Söhne's version, crafted from solid PG, offers a truly exceptional texture. While the watch embodies the romance of mechanical watches with a flyback chronograph, a precision jumping minute counter, and a tourbillon with hacking function, the dial layout remains neat and tidy without compromising legibility. Limited to a worldwide run of just 100 pieces, this is a watch of the highest quality, both in terms of investment value and satisfaction.

④ [IWC] "Portugieser Perpetual Calendar 44" "Ref. IW503701"
